Who knows but considering they finished in the top 3, they probably didn’t want to send him to a team that could take points off them.

Dybala just came out and said he's not satisfy with 3rd place finish. He also looks mad when he got subbed out too. This is a positive attitude and it seems that this Copa with all its bias toward us has been trial by fire for our players.

Argentina is well known for panicking and folded when things dont go their way, but that's not the case in last few matches... even after Messi was wrongly sent off. Dybala has been our most dangerous player against Chile, hopefully there will no more stupid subtitution like Scolani did against Chile.

    Icardi to Juventus, apparently.

Thiago Almada has an offer from Sporting Lisbon, I believe.

Nothing yet, this has been ongoing for well over a month and even during the season they were making these claims. Icardi doesn’t want to leave Italy and the only team he’ll play for is Juve. Napoli’s president, De Laurentiis came out and said that as well. So, Juve knows this and they’re probably just lowballing Inter and Inter are trying to bring in Lukaku, it is a complicated issue. Inter want Dybala in return and Dybala is not gonna want to go there, and I wouldn’t either with a guy like Conte in charge. I’d rather see how joe does under Sarri.

Juve will be interesting to watch with Icardi and Dybala, that is if both players remain there. There have also been rumors with Dybala going to United, so that Juve can bring in Pogba. This and that, this is happening, that is happening. Nothing is concrete just a bunch of tabloids. But we should get answers within the next 30-45 days, IMO.

Nehuen Perez going on loan to an unknown Portuguese team

Typical of Simeone to buy our young prospects without actually having plans for them. I guess it’s good that at least he’s going somewhere where he’ll be getting regular minutes, but I just wish it would have been a better side or at least a decent league. Even having him stay in Argentinos Jrs for another season would have been better than playing for a small Portuguese team who won’t be seeing any continental football all season

I mean, they were just promoted, what could possibly go wrong?!:mad:

And I agree. Send him back home at least. What’s the point of this loan? Or send him to another La Liga side.

This happened a little while ago but Lucas Ocampos will be at Sevilla this upcoming season. They purchased him from OM for around 15ME. He is still 25(actually today) so, let’s see if he makes the most out of it. Since leaving home, he’s played in France, Italy and now he’ll be in Spain. Best of luck. I’ll try to keep my eye on him.

Its pretty amazing that Dybala was able to get a goal and assist in Copa despite getting minimum playing time. Did he even play up to 90 minutes in total?

Even though Juventus has get rid of Allegri, the existence of CR on the team means Dybala will always be under his shadow. In Copa he did show he could shine while playing alongside Messi, but unlike Messi... CR is a different type of character.. he always play for his own glory, everything else comes second.

There's already some articles that claimed Spurs is very close to signing Lo Celso.

According to various sources, it's most likely that Scaloni will stay till the end of the Copa 2020. There's also a possibility that he'll be the DT until the end of the WC 22.

I dont mind it, we need long term manager. Since Tata's left, we have been changing manager 3 times within 2 years. We need an identity which already started to show in recent Copa.

First thing Scolani needs to do would be stop calling Suarez , ADM and maybe Otamendi. We're obviously better with Messi playing behind the other two forwards and hopefully he's not taking a backward step from what already works in Copa.

Hope Scaloni starts off well in WCQ. I don't want another panicked change midway like last time. I mean if we get a downgrade from him, yikes.

An Italian friend of mine said it is something to with the Sturaro transfer and payments and something shady along those lines. He is a Juventus fan for his sins as well and does not much like the idea of Sarri taking over either.

He will get plenty of game time if the club do play him. And if they do then he will get plenty of time to craft his game and learn about being under constant pressure in a weak team that is expected to be relegated. It will do him a world of good so long as he himself shows what he is capable of.

Scouts and managers can take a players contributions even in a poorly playing team and isolate players who are still playing at a high level against those who are continually responsible for making mistakes and damaging the team. I was pleased Werner played the whole season even in a losing cause with Huesca as it provided experience and a mental test which he has survived despite some terrible scorelines. The important thing is Perez understands that he continues to develop and maintain and improve his standards. Clubs will come calling regardless even if it is not Atletico he eventually turns up.

As RH said Lo Celso is still high on Pochettino's priorities even though other midfielders have been linked like Ceballos. All dependent on Eriksen leaving apparently.

Juan Foyth is problematic. I would dearly love to see him play at DM and eventually migrate to a CB. I think he can offer so much at DM in helping break up and orchestrate play and carry the ball if required box to box. He is deceptively quick for a tall player.

The kid because that is what he is in terms of games played also uses an app to scout his potential opponents before each game to assess their strengths and weaknesses independent of the coaching staff. A bright kid willing to learn.

Matias Vargas is set to join Espanyol. Again a decent move in that he should be able to secure plenty of game time. I think it is imperative Menotti and others speak to all the players highlighted in their candidates list and make sure they understand that sitting on the bench or playing reserve football rules them out of contention.

Asascibar is also willing to leave Stuttgart but they want a decent fee for him Fingers crossed and I am sure there are many top clubs who would want him. His tackle against Wolfsburg was voted the best tackle in the Bundesliga last season in saving a certain goal.

I think the player group can only grow from this Copa. They had fire and belief and a little consistency coming in as players started to understand how each of them plays.

And I think the management group can only grow as well with more experience. They know what it means to play for the shirt and transmit it to the players and the players will have grown with them as their own heroes. They could improve themselves by going to coaching clinics and hanging out with top coaches.

Let us not forget even the best coaches start out with zero experience. The best ones learn from their mistakes and iron those out such as in making the right tactical choices and substitutions. Several countries have adopted ex players often with little experience and it has worked out well.

I do think the group could benefit from a proven manager and first rate analyst like Beccacece for instance at a tournament and also continuity from the u15 to the full seleccion with coaches like Placente and Aimar to provide a framework for the pibes to mature in.

So, Icardi was formally given the door today at Inter. Juve will probably happen and Lukaku recently came out and said that we’ll get an answer with him in a week or so. Thus, Icardi sold will probably happen within the next few weeks.

I’m not gonna write-off Icardi off just yet and you would think the type of character he has, he’ll want to come out with a vengeance and make Inter make. I hope he has another 20+ goal season because he could be a useful player and can surely win a spot over somebody like Matí Suarez. Because Lautaro, Dybala, Messi and Kun will surely be locks barring any injuries.

A report came out when Icardi was told he won’t be apart of the team he replied by saying “I’ll stay here for two years, take my salary and I won’t move.” It is just a report but I find it kinda funny. He wants to go to Juve and Inter need to raise money to get Lukaku. And Juve basically told Inter, some cash and Kean.

De Paul is trying to force a way out as well. A few days back he said he wants to play for a side who will be in the CL. So, we’ll see what will happen there.

Roma are apparently trying to sign Almendra from Boca. It is supposedly a deal for 16ME but Boca have a 25 ME release clause on him.

Also, it is reported that Sarri will use Dybala as his primary forward and he will be a big part of the attack.

Sarri is an interesting manager. He doesn’t play an outdated system like most of the Italian dinosaurs do but regardless, I am very much interested seeing him play under a progressive manager. Hopefully their midfield picks it up. I don’t want to see him ball carrying anymore.

Now that De Ligt is in Juve, I'm worried about Romero's playing time next season. Chiellini and Bonucci aren't going anywhere next season and he still has Rugani and Demiral to compete with unless Juve is planning on playing a back 3, which would be the best formation for this team imo.

Foyth is another player that I'm worried about his lack playing time.. however, according to report he cut his holiday's short and joined his teammates for pre season tour so he might be part of Poch plan A, especially after Tripper joining Cholo's team.

Romero will be at Genoa for at least one year. So, he’ll get plenty of time. Maybe even two, who knows? Juve brought in the Dutch kid who they’ll have to play after spending all that money on him. So, we’ll see what Juve does with Romero for the 2020-2021 season. A bit premature to guess. But there are talks that Bonucci could leave for PSG. Also, Chiellini will be 35 in a month’s time, so who knows how many more seasons he’ll have left. Only time will tell.

Oh when I said 'next season' I meant the 20-21 season lol I'm hoping that Chiellini, Bonucci and De Ligt hog all the play time for 19-20 season so that Rugani and Demiral can't develop while Romero does with Genoa. In the 20-21 season, hopefully Romero will be good enough to replace Chiellini and Bonucci and play alongside De Ligt regularly.
