In a way I hope he stays and collects a fat paycheck from just sitting on the bench and playing golf to teach Flo a lesson. And not only Flo but other teams as well to be cautious when extending these contracts for so long.. Now watch James not land anywhere else and do the same coming back to make matters even worse for Zidane.
You seriously cannot want this for the team we support, what if this causes issues in the dressing room and leads to some destabilization on the pitch as well, ( with his agent talking rubbish daily) leading to us not doing our best, I prefer to see us win rather than what you seem to be hoping for just to “teach” someone or some club a “lesson” I want to see good positive football from my team this season, I want to see us be effective and win, to enjoy watching the team again, personally i’d prefer no distractions
I understand but certain things can’t be forced. If we dont want this to happen we then need to be prepared to offload Bale for free or for a very small amount and cover part of his huge wages.
I think its the soon-to-be law student (I start next month ) in me, but I'm not too bothered about this situation since there isn't much the team can do. Its within his right to see through the rest of his contract with Real Madrid and that includes staying in Madrid for the duration of said contract. I do think Zidane will probably freeze him out of the first team which is within his right as manager. Its definitely a lesson learned for Flo and the board going forward now. At the end of the day, Bale wants his entire 52me or whatever number paid to him in order to leave Real Madrid.
You have to the understand the mindset here Digi. It's been clear for a while with certain people. Weird I know.
I stopped watching football after we lost to Ajax. It's been motoGP and F1 only since then. Friendlies are boring but when there's players like Hazard and Jovic preseason is a different thing all together.
First preseason of a new project or signing is always the most fun. Its literally the honeymoon period. Its never the same after that.
You also have people that don't wish fot that (I wish for him to leave actually), but also consider that Bale has all the rights to sit on his contract. Flo won't put a dead pig head in his bed to force him to leave. Just like the club wants their best players to respect the contract they signed, the club also has to respect the wish of a player that signed said contract. It works both way. What @robnycus means, imo, is that it should serve as a lesson instead. Don't renew a player with your eyes closed if you suspect said player might be a problem later (Bale, and his injuries / communication problems are not something new).
Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come, especially when we don’t have the ball. And you think that Perez doesnt know this? he's been in the business for how long? and he also happens to be a very intelligent dude, im sure he's aware of the risk, he gambled and he lost, happens to the best of them.
Actually, I think Flo is happy because depsite the problems, he was there when needed for that CL win against AM. Also last CL win season awesome goal
Bale was renewed in 2016 with several other regulars as transfer ban was looming. It was an unusual situation.
It was the reason James and I think a couple of others stayed on and we ended up so deep. People forget what a pickle we would have been in if the ban had not been stayed and the bench players had left.
Lewis and Marquez are so dominant that it makes those two racing series as boring as watching a friendly football match.
Gambling on Bale - renewing his contract, making him our highest paid player - and Asensio were stupid decisions .. You can call it gamble all you want but I call it incompetence of the highest magnitude. He’s made some other good decisions to compensate somewhat but those two were really bad ones.
Why renew for 5 or 6 more years and make Bale the highest earner in our club? Based on what exactly? I would have paid Navas more than Bale, but Navas earns peanuts in comparison.
Football market doesn't work like that. Attacking players are always paid more apart from captain figures like Ramos. Bale was the highest paid for a few weeks before Ronaldo renewed. Bale's image rights was worth the second highest at that time in RM and 4th highest in world football after Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar. Navas earns what his market value was at the time. Image rights contribute to RM having highest revenue in the world. Bale had United willing to match his wages and pay a transfer fee until 2018. Anyways, we discussed same things several times. Going in circles. Club always give long term contracts to players below 30. It works in most cases and in rare cases, it doesn't. Like Bayern lost Kroos for cheap due to having only a year left. They'd be getting a lot more if they had given him a 6 year deal. We got 45 ME for Kova now because he signed a 6 year deal 2015. Else he'd in the last year of his contract.
Yes it sounds human, @fierro - and I guess one of the reason some had several wives other parts of this planet which were more common - maybe that period lasted longer who knows.
