Do you think he'll be part of the 1st team selection coming season? It would make a lot YA watchers drool.
He's better than Kristensen who looks to be on his way out. Veltman might be shifted to his old position in the center defense and I don't know where Mazraoui will play either at RB or MF. Dest has improved so much in the past 18 months; he started for the US U-21 team. Of course it's great for his development that he is playing in a real football league rather than MLS!!!
de Ligt is scheduled to report for training at Ajax on Monday!!!! I'm thinking that there is a 40% chance he stays with Ajax this season and maybe Ziyech does as well. https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetba...e-ligt-maandag-gewoon-in-amsterdam~abfc2bf91/
After his performance in the ACN I doubt that there will be interest in signing him, but I'm still an optimist.
Promes, Blind, van de Beek, de Ligt, Marin, Schöne, Dolberg, and Tadic all reported for training today in Amsterdam. Neres said in an interview that he is committed to Ajax and will report later in the month along with Onana, Mazraoui, and perhaps Ziyech (have not heard any further rumors about a transfer) as they were on later international duty. It will be interesting to see how Overmars deals with the de Ligt situation this week. I think de Ligt would play the season at Ajax if Overmars plays hardball with Juventus.
Raiola met Ajax minimum demands with the Juve deal he brokered, but Overmars wants more. Depends on how hard de Ligt and Raiola want to play it. They could go to court and put on the table a significant improvement for de Ligt at Juve to justify the brake up with Ajax. Given the pay rise that's not going to give de Ligt/Raiola a problem to get a break up. The court than sets a reasonable transfer fee Juve has to pay to Ajax to get de Ligt. That's going to be tricky for both parties. If the court takes as a guide the transfer sums now being payed for players not so much sought after as de Ligt, a price tag of 120-150 million could be set. It however also could go the other way and it could be less than what Juve wants to pay, not likely but still possible. If it goes to court my guess is in the current situation it could be set at 100 million. So the biggest risk is for Juve and de Ligt/Raiola. PSG and other clubs could mess things up by putting in a tranfer fee of 100-150 million or more that the court can take into it's considerations for the fee to set, while not meeting de Ligt's/Raiola's salary demands. That's a safe way to sabotage de Ligt and Ajax and Juve.
As I understand it, Ajax want all the money up front and Juventus offered a lowball first amount with the remainder as follow on payments. We really don't know what Overmars has told Juve and I take everything Raiola says with less than a grain of salt. He's saying a bunch of stuff about Pogba and ManU has added the player to the group that is traveling to the US for some friendlies.
Tadic extended his contract to 2026. Three years more as a player and then to work as a trainer. Good for Ajax!!!
De Ligt transfer to Juve to be finalized today: https://www.ad.nl/nederlands-voetba...entus-moet-vandaag-worden-beklonken~a106307b/
BREAKING: #Ajax en Juventus akkoord over transfersom Matthijs de Ligt. Papierwerk nu in orde gemaakt. Transfer compleet!!— Mike Verweij (@MikeVerweij) July 12, 2019
I'll wait for Ajax to officially announce the transfer. I wonder what the final amount is and whether it is all payable up front.
Transfer fee is about 70 million Euro, and he will make a salary of 12 million/yr for the next 5 years
Salary is gross. I believe has an option to leave after 2 or 3 years, so if he's doing well Barca will come calling soon enough
Because the Italian state has put in a very fine tax regime for players he's going to pay about 20%. In Spain it would be around 40-50%. So the gross income is lower than in the other suiter's offer, the net remaining is at least the same, or even much more.
Ajax defeat Basaksehir of Istanbul 2-1 in a friendly today. Dolberg and Huntelaar with the goals. Ajax played with split teams in each half with the top 22 in camp all getting a run out. Neres, Ziyech, Mazraoui and Onana are the players left to report.
It seems that Ajax have agreed with Club America on signing Edson Alvarez, who should supposedly fill de Ligt's shoes. Also Veltman may make his move out of the club to West Ham utd. Man, I want Ajax to sign Timothy-fosu Mensah. What do you think, guys ?
Alvarez can play both in the center and RB. When I watched the Gold Cup final, Mexico-US, he was at RB. He is far superior to Fosu-Mensah. Good bit of business for Ajax.
