And half my office of goofy software nerds is super-duper into the team and the ones who aren't give no ********s either way.
Well I don't read the Daily Mail or watch Fox News. Doubt I'll start either. Not sure I'd use either one as a gauge either.
The great Groucho Marx would surely recommend that we all watch DUCK SOUP for the first time or the 90th. Hail, Hail, Freedonia!!!
I'm not a fan of either but refusing to use at least Fox News as a gauge of public opinion of a substantial chunk of our country will leave one unaware as to what that chunk is thinking. Whether you care about that or not is irrelevant. Regardless, I've made my point. There are lots of people out there actively rooting for the USA women to lose in the WC because they don't like one player's (Rapinoe) politics. I find that contemptible.
Read, process, then comment. You'll sounder smarter, and will have a better chance of being right. I never said it was an "accurate representation of American sentiment." I said I was surprised how many Americans were there voicing opposition to the USWNT. I don't think anywhere close to a majority of conservatives or even MAGA types are rooting against the USA in the WC, but a substantial number have been riled up by right wing talking heads railing against Rapinoe and they've turned that into hatred for the whole team. That all I've said.
Indeed. And like every single online community, it's a very, hyper-narrow slice. It's similar to using BigSoccer to point out how popular soccer is in the States. Well, I suggest treating that ill-defined number with the level of contempt you feel appropriate and moving on with your day. There will always be people who have an idiotic opinion about something and will loudly state it. Giving them additional notoriety or attention is the opposite of what you want (I would be willing to bet).
You're certainly no patriot. And what did Morgan do that you and your cult leader don't like? Will just quote myself from upthread:
Awesome. And you literally called her a hooker on an MLS thread ( apparently there *no* rules over there?) You're a great representative for Trump, that's for sure.
It’s not one player it’s two. And the whole equal pay thing is another reason to want them knocked down a peg.
Don't put that on MLS. I've always said that board is generally better than this board when discussing women's soccer. There is a particular team board that has quite a few garbage posters.
It wasn't my intention to put it on the whole MLS; I was just vaguely gesturing toward the part of Big Soccer I never go to. "Over there" meant that thread and/or subforum in question; whichever applies.
That's... not better. You're obviously a raging misogynist which makes your opinion on Women's soccer and their equal pay toxic at best.
Well there are a lot of us that hope the Dutch win. But for the record you disagree that getting drunk and belligerent at a kids theme park is trashy.
Well said, orcrist. It's really sad that misogynist men involve themselves in the world of women's sports to spread their vile poison. What a ridiculous way for Jack and the others to get attention. Can't they just hang out with other misogynist men, like the rapist in the White House, and leave the rest of us alone?
I disagree that any behavior by one woman is license to use grossly sexist language to describe her. I don't care about that incident one way or another; I was just getting a gauge of whether this violent/sexist garbage was typical of your talk about women, and voila, there it was.
