In 2012, Shinji Kagawa joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund to great fanfare.

I don't know about you but I have the feeling that Kagawa has reached the end of road, in Europe. What the point of wandering like Nomad in some increasingly smaller clubs to not even shine on camera ?

Kagawa and Schurrle left out of training camp

According to Kicker both Shinji Kagawa and Andre Schurrle will not report to team training for the July 3rd start. They will both be allowed to continue their search for a new club as Dortmund are keen to offload their contracts. Schurrle, no longer Dortmund’s record signing, has been largely a flop at Dortmund, failing to make the impact he was supposed to.

Kagawa on the other hand, is a bit harder to see go. Not only for the emotional attachment he has with the fans but also because he still has something to offer. He was just never given a chance under Favre, plain and simple. With Reus able to play a full season, the attacking midfield position was filled and Kagawa left to sit on the bench.

Unfortunately, Favre had made a critical mistake in freezing Kagawa out last year. He could have made a difference in their run for Championship League/ Domestic Title. Kagawa can still be useful but Favre is an idiot.

 

Spain or Besiktas for Kagawa

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has revealed that out of favor Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa will return to Turkey next season unless he can find a club in Spain. Kagawa has a dream to play in the La Liga, but it remains to be seen whether he can find a club to sign him.

The Japanese playmaker spent the second half of last season on loan with Besiktas, scoring four goals in 14 games.

“We’re planning with Kagawa for the new season,” Orman told BEIN Sports. “He has a dream to play in the Spanish league. Only if he finds a buyer in Spain, we go our separate ways.”

Damn. When the initial report came out that Kagawa would join the North America tour I was hoping I would catch him against Liverpool in Indiana.

 

Reportedly he agrees on conditions to join Besiktas permanently.

 

Hope he'll maintain his level until 2022.
In NT, preference should be given to Kamada now, but Kagawa stays a great option for deep bench.
