This coach is really something. Such a positive start and against one of the favorites that the media hypes on a regular basis.

He passed it back to the goalie. Ospina was not suppose to pick the call up with his hand. So that would be a direct free kick I believe

I liked the sub. C4 was starting to lose his composure and was edging close to a second yellow. Lerma was great.

I think the key for us was playing Barrios - Uribe in the middle - in the past we d go pure double five to open a tournament like this but here we believed in ourselves and that with James and C4 on pitch we could move the ball around enough to shift the stress of defending to the Argies... And it worked.

    Full marks to CQ.

Only bummer was the silly yellow for Duvan taking off his shirt. Hate to give those away.

It wasn't a pass; he took the ball from messi who had it in control; hence it doesnt matter where the defender kicks the ball if he's trying to make messi lose possession. If he had control of the ball however after taking it, then there be a arguement.

That wasn’t a pass - it was an unintentional touch.

I say that with 100% non-bias. That play didn’t even worry me for one second.

He didn't touch it. Therefore not a back pass, he just shielded Messi off the ball, since the original ball had not been intended for Ospina, no foul.

It was a clean pick up. If Ospina decided to kick it wildly, it could of deflected off a player and gone in.

Good call on Ospina's end. He played a great game today.

That is what the ref said about the play. He said Var should have looked at that and the Muriel injury. If It was even a remote back pass to Ospina the way the ref was leaning it would have been a Pk

The Argie bias of the ref was so apparent it was disgusting

Yeah but thankfully we forced him into a position to ref fairly the longer the game went on.

All that matters is that we won like we deserved to.

The touch on the ball was very intentional.

I think this game highlighted how Pekerman at the end was holding us back, we defended brilliantly but everyone on the team could hold the ball and aside from Barrios who is an out and out CDM everyone could break forward and cause trouble to the Argentinians. We could have played almost the same set up against England but he chose to play 3 holding mids. This team was defensively very good but also posed a threat, happy to see us play more of a high intensity style that can go after the opponent all over the field.

Intentional touch yes, but the fact is that the touch ending as a pass to the gk was not intentional which is what matters

Hope Barrios is alright. He was a beast today. As were Mina and Davinson. We're so lucky to have that tandem for years to come.

Dont know what Queiroz saw in Medina to have so much confidence in him, but its paid off. Good to see after all the shit that Medina got a couple of years back. Still prefer Arias though.

Also big props to Roger Martinez. What a goal and nice set up of the 2nd goal as well. I was one who wanted Villa on the roster instead of him. So he shut me up this game.

Roger Martinez hasn't convinced me as a 9, but as a winger I like what I see. He is very similar to Muriel, hopefully he will become even better.

Medina almost had a few fk ups but it was mostly the whole defense was ducking around in their box late in the game

I was like I am going to be so pissed if we have a Fuentes brain fart.

Medina and Fuentes were crazy confident as well as Roger. They tried to dribble pass 2-3 Argie players at a time.

Think their agents are showing this game to euro teams as we speak

I take back everything bad I have ever said about Barrios. Still really like Lerma tho

I was very confident yesterday before the match and not nervous like others were.

    Now everyone sees why.

This team has the talent and the experience, the leadership and the hunger to win. This team has depth like no other team in this tournament at almost every position.
It seems like they now have the manager and the tactics to compete with the best.

Very proud of this team. Hopefully they can continue to build the momentum, stay away from complacency, and win a Cup that is there for the taking.

Th only significant criticism I have seen of Barrios has been his temper.

Same the head butt and I feel Lerma is better offensively. I still like Lerma better but it is more of a Cardona or Quintero Situation then a Cristian Zapata v Mina situation.

One last thing I want to say about this game. I think sometimes Ospina is taken for granted by many people, myself included.
He usually is solid when we really need him to be and he saved our arses last night when we really needed him to.
