Overall, Argentina didn’t play bad. They had one good half and one bad half but there are a lot of positives from this game. This is a rebuild so expecting to beat an established group of veterans is nonsense.

I've been saying this aswell but he did look really slow and heavy footed. De Paul came in and we started to press but then they scored and we never recover (as usual).

Aguero didn’t show enough hunger; he seemed extremely heavy-legged.

Give Aguero a pass on this one because he was totally isolated. Not one good cross into the box either. Di Maria on the other hand needs to stay on the bench

Pratto played maybe 3-4 games, and scored 2 goals (including one vs.... Colombia)

Meza was a catastrophe, but his inclusion probably had more to do with Moyano’s power in AFA tbh.

Suarez played ten minutes, but yeah I would have opted for Lautaro in this case

Absolute disaster from minute 1. Got Croatia 2018 WC vibe quite early. We have a shit coach, no gameplan and too many ordinary players; game ended as expected. What strikes me is that we have no pace whatsoever. None. At all. We also have a «safety first» mentality that kills 90% of our attacks. Most of our guys pass it back and are happy with that, a shame.

Messi has been like this most of the time in NT. Maybe we need to put him in #9 position so he doesnt continously dropping back to midfield. I'd rather have him solely as finisher rather than as attacking midfielder.

Tagfliafico made some great clearence but both goals leaked from the left flank. Guess who's playing on that side.

I thought De paul had a decent cameo. Taglifico shut down his flank. That’s it when it comes to positives

I used some names as examples of players who can possess the ball.

Today's game was a total embarrassment.

With the veteran generation, we reached many cup finals.

My whole point is for a gradual transition, not a complete change where the mid can't string passes and keeps turning over the ball.

We’ve been giving him a break for the last 10 years. The dude’s pressing and movement is pathetic. You need to move across the box to be found by midfielders. He stands around. The only time he actually runs is during a counter attack.

Now we have to win next 2 games or hang our fate on other teams result like in 2018. Colombia wasnt even dangerous side at all. No way we're beating Brazil and Uruguay unless we reach knockout stage.

This is why I think we should go for attack in next two games regardless the outcome. I'd rather lose 3-4 , 2-3 or draw 2-2 than seeing this pathetic display.

We have more friendlies and WC qualfier games before next year Copa, so there will be more matches to try new things, but this would be totally wasted if Scolani still in charge.

Aguero is done physically. No top speed, no stamina. His agility and acceleration are going as well

Ospina with a crazy save and Messi missing a open header. Would have been a different game. Positives: Colombia is the most physical team we will face and probably the best in the group. We can definetly bounce back and hopefully the group gels together more. Disappointed no martinez or dybala.

I believe we all noticed both Messi and Aguero has been running less and less in last few years when playing for NT, that's for sure. However, in great system, their finishing ability would still make them more than deadly.

If they're done physically , how do you explain their crazy goal numbers at club level? Aguero and Messi are still scoring 30+ & 50+ goals respectively.

From some of his words, Aguero does looks way too relax and doesnt seems to care about the outcome for this tournament. He's saying that hopefully he could help Messi to win something with the NT. So he's basically just contain to play alongside his buddy Messi.

Aguero probably hasnt really prepar himself physically for this tournament. He looks so "wide" like Higuain and as you said he couldnt accelerate and never reach his top speed.

Deserves one more game. Sure he wasn't very good today, but he should be the least of worries. The tactics were so shit I dont think any striker would have looked good. Problem is Tagliafico is good defensively but offers next to nothing in attack. You can't have both fullbacks not offer anything in offence in todays game and expect to generate offence.

Look at Liverpool, two very good fullbacks who can cross very accurately. Teams have to respect that so the midfield opens up for more creative players to do there thing. Columbia just collapsed back, surrounded Aguero and clogged the midfield. I dont think I saw a single overlapping run from the fullbacks. Depressing to think that we are so used to the team playing like this even performances like De Paul's today is considered "good". Deja vu to when Pavon came on against Iceland and "looked" good by playing less shit than others. How many chances did he even generate from the right flank? He beat the defender like one time and the rest was just passing back. Still needs to start ahead of ADM......

What has ADM achieve in first half? well, 45 minutes of playing time is an achievement I suppose.

De Paul came in and we started to have more attacking play that started from left channel instead from Messi.

The reason why Aguero should be replaced is because Lautaro is young player that has zero game and experience in major tournament and when we will actually move on from the 2005-2007 attacking line? after WC 2026?

There will another Copa at Argentina/Colombia next year and we're going to give Aguero more experience so he could reach 100 caps? sounds about right.

France has Benzema but they fielded 19 year old guy instead because they have guts and believe in young players talent (like we used too more than a decade ago)

Lmao watch some Ajax. He's constantly an integral part of their attack.

What happens is that this team is clueless in every aspect. Tactics as a start.

Nobody here cares about what he does for Ajax. In every NT game since the WC he hasnt offered anything going fwd. Could be the coachs issue but he needs to overlap and give the wingers some options. Cant have both LB and RB playing so conservatively

Which basically mean not player fault. The whole team was playing conservatively and avoided going forward in numbers. This is one player's fault ? Lol

You can put Sorin in this team, he'd still avoid going forward cause Scolani would tell him simply to defend and do nothing more than that.

We should start Lautaro & De Paul in next game & move Messi further upfront. We basically played 4-5-1 instead of 4-4-2 since Messi decided he should a midfielder.

People need to calm down. We just need to win our next two games. We had chances and they didn’t go in.

This doom and gloom attitude is a real buzz kill.

Ok, since Chile went on to win in 2016 after losing to Argentina in group stage, we could still win this one aswell.
