    Group C, have at it....

But don't forget to read the Mod Warning.

And don't forget, there will be results discussed, so if you want to watch the match later, but maintain the suspense, please don't read this thread until later

Preemptive mod note: Please try and limit description of Jamaica as "fast" or something similar without some greater discussion. While this might be accurate, due to the comparative level of skill versus other teams in tourney and even in this group, using that descriptor falls dangerously close to racial stereotypes when not providing context or discussion. I state this has I have seen several posts elsewhere talking about their speed, some with context, others without.

    Thank you

don't quite understand; Jamaica offically call themselves Reggae Girlz. Their top player, nicknames herself "Bunny" Shaw. Yet your tellingus that we can't use these nicknames ourselves?

Dont know, this is why I'm asking the mod if we can use those nicknames or not?

I think you are looking for something that is not there. I said "fast," not "nicknames."

As an example, somewhere I saw a comment that Jamaica will score a couple of goals because of their speed. That is what I'm talking about. Speed gets them by an opposing player by running, but there is still skill involved in controlling the ball and putting in past the keeper and a myriad of other things.

Mind, I also said put it in context.

That said, if have questions about whether or not you should make that post or make that comment, don't (and this applies to everybody). If something is telling you (everybody) that the post/comment should not be made, then it is probably the right choice.

Did you read my posts? Both of them? And did you note my example in the second post?

I thought Cristiane retired years ago. I hadn't heard anything about her for a long time. Where has she been?

She was one of the Brazilian players that retired for a bit in 2017. She came back sometime after that because she was at the Copa America in 2018.
She was playing in China's Super League at the time; I'm not sure where she plays club now though.

As an Italian who follows women's football I was surprised of the win against Australia yesterday. They played with heart and passion for the game, so proud of them!

It's OK, Jamaica seems pretty slow, lol. Italy was FAST.

Really hoping Jamaica doesn't go goalless. Hoping they score one vs. Australia. They had moments they've looked really good.

Is the first tie-breaker direct clash? So that, if Brazil beat Italy, they are first regardless of goal difference? :cautious:

Oh, ok. I was perplexed because I was wondering how Italy had already advanced to the Round of 16, since I had figured that a 2-0 or 3-0 win by Brazil vs Italy and a 5-0 or more win by Australia vs Jamaica (both entirely possible results) would have put Italy at third place on goal difference (or H2H) despite the 6 points already made.

But I now understand that the point is that, even in that case, there is no way (given the current results of the other groups) that a team at 6 points doesn't advance to knock-out phase as one of the best 3-rd placed teams. :coffee:

Fair play comes into the equation as well, that's why it appears on the FIFA group table as the last column.
