Khadija "Bunny" Shaw is really lethal! I can understand why she's leaded all the worlwide qualification campaign in goals scored: you've got the feeling that she actually makes no mistake in front of the goal. This reminds me a little of Equatorial Guinea at WWC 2011: an apparent push-over team, that played a FW who was very strong at the time, Genoveva Anonma, who could potentially convert any half chance thrown at her, so that the team was never actually out of the game. Surely Group C, with Australia, Brazil and Italy, looks quite unsurmountable for Jamaica, at least on paper, but I wonder if Shaw will anyway get the satisfaction of scoring some goals at the World Cup.
pound for pound, Jamaica got the fastest humans in the world! & wouldn't be surprised if they get an upset or two. What would of been cool if only they could of had all of Canada's Jamaican born players on their team as well!(Buchanen, Lawrence, Prince, Rose) don't discount Scotland either, their very underrated(especially with FIFA's only 20th ranked rating). Kim Little(in th highlights) looks like she's playing like her NWSL days(where she was two time MVP) Esmlie & Cuthbert have become stars in their own right ths last season(Cuthbert being only 20 years old) Corsie & Beattie are two experienced CB's(how many can claim two major league titles in one year alone like Beattie?) & the rest boast several English league starters that go way deep into their bench btw...........hopefully the upcoming Italy vs Swiss game can be streamed in some kinda legal piracy, otherwise the mods just don't like the Wolfman!

Well, I won't share any direct links to live streams, but you can find them yourself using the google of live streams --> https://streamwoop.net/ (a seach engine).
Does anyone know if full WWC games will be on YouTube right after they play? I can’t remember if they were available last World Cup. I’m hoping they are so I can download them to watch offline.
there's a piracy feel about this 35 min. video from the recent Thailand/France game, but it's played on the legal youtube. The French got their mostly 2nd tier squad in there. Honestly, don't like their PJ look unis, expected a bit more from the usual, fashionista French. and talking about pirates; one of the Thai's is born & bred in LA with an actual English name, but plays for Thailand with a Thai name!(think it's the #8). I will not mentioned her name however......due to legal/pirate problems/or maybe cause Blissett will lambast me if I misspell the two dozen letters long name that the Thai's go with? lol
Lol, in this case I can say that even I can easily happen to mispell Thai names: too difficult for the average western speller! Anyway, you're right, the player you refer to is #8, as recently mentioned on the Women's World Cup 2019 Panini Stickers thread (how could you miss the most informative WWC thread that was ever opened on these boards? ): the girl's western name is Miranda Nild, but her Thai friends prefer to call her Suchawadee Nildhamrong, that's in fact way easier. She plays for Berkeley's California Golden Bears. Thailand also had on the pitch DF #10 Sunisa Srangthaisong: every time I read her name I can't help wondering what could it mean for a Thai song to be "srang"! More seriously: I noticed that in the end France won by 3-0, but they scored their first quite late in 2nd half. You mentioned France were playing their 2nd-tier team, but I wouldn't have thought Thailand could have such a resiliency anyway.
I listened to this Total Soccer Podcast yesterday: Group A Preview. I liked the informative, high energy presentation and I am looking forward to their previews of all the other groups! https://tfss.libsyn.com/2019-womens-world-cup-group-a-preview-france-korea-norway-nigeria
Yesterday, Italy-Switzerland 3-1. The missed chances were actually much cleaner than the goals themselves! Anyway, Italy looks in good form (GK Giuliani included) and I guess they will be a tough nut to crack for anyone. Highlights:
https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/wo...teams-to-target-from-advanced-computer-model/ If I get it right they donot give the Orange lionesses much of a chance to win the WWC2019. USA 2-1 France 7-2 Germany 11-2 England 7-1 Japan 14-1 Netherlands 14-1 Sweden 20-1 Australia 20-1 Brazil 20-1 Canada 20-1 Spain 25-1 Norway 30-1 Italy 50-1 China 50-1 South Korea 60-1 New Zealand 60-1 Scotland 100-1 Argentina 100-1 Chile 100-1 Nigeria 250-1 Cameroon 500-1 South Africa 500-1 Jamaica 1,000-1 Thailand 1,000-1
Watching the germany vs Chile game made me a bit nervous going to the World Cup for Germany... so many shots and chances but still struggled to score.. hope for the best.
If I were a gambler, I would have wanted at least 20-1 to bet big on the Dutch. Netherlands didn't win their WC qualifying group and haven't played any games against top ranked teams lately. It's difficult to evaluate where they are at.
just knew the back story on Nild, was looking for her in this game. At first I was glansing at the one blond as possibly being her, but a close up revealed peroxide! Then it was becoming more obvious it was the one euroasian girl(#8) NAW.......Frqnce looked pretty good(s in the 30 min vid Thailand only made one serious cross kick). Usually it takes time to adjust for 2nd tiers as they've might of never played before as a unit(but still got to wonder why the Deacon insists the atrocious Gauvin over Katato? lol) Thailand seems like an easy mark for Ellis(who never, never, never changes her starting lineup) good victory for Italy, but........aginast one of hte worst defenders I've everseen in Kiwic! Why Italy has avoided stronger teams in it;s build up? be sure to check out the German woso NT threat, we surely could use more posters! I am sure in 2011 the Japan odds were sky high and they still won it. Bookies don't always get it right.
Longshots for sure but I can't remember the exact odds. Rating-wise, also, of course, longshots but Japan was the 4th-ranked team and their odds in their upsets of Germany and USA weren't astronomical. Japan (2062) was 90 points below Germany (2153). Ignoring the theoretical homefield advantage, Japan had a bit higher than (.373) probability of advancing past Germany. (With the 100 point homefield advantage, Japan's chances drop to roughly (.251) Against the US (2191), the rating difference was about 130 points which means Japan had about (.321) probability of winning the match. Japan was underdogs, clearly, but the odds were far from prohibitive
