I haven't seen much of him to be honest. From what I've read, he's come straight into the Bolton team this season and has been instrumental in their bid to stay up. Played 18 games I believe but very highly rated with prem teams watching him.
I recall people asked me once what's Mbi's connection to Germany. Seems like he played for Gladbach before switching to Chelsea/England. Likely born in Germany too. so that means both him and Musiala from 03s are triple nationals who became England eligible after being in England long enough. These are the type of players were there is no such thing as poaching from either side. Familial wise/birth its Germany but dev wise, it's both countries. These 2 are pretty much made in Germany but upgraded in England as they are continuing their careers there and went there young enough.
Musiala came to England at a younger age than Bright, at least I think he did, but there's not a lot in it.
but doesn't it go that Musiala was scouted by Chelsea while playing in Germany for his club? And that he moved there after that? neither would be poaching because they were developed in both countries, so it's fair game. sometimes I wonder if FIFA should just axe heritage of players and only count where they were developed for eligibility and birth of the player. Just imagine smaller countries going nuts that they can't poach from elsewhere. We had this Turkish FA who said that Turkey would be screwed if they didn't poach from Germany, lol. Would also means that Glatzel although has 2/2 German parents, speaks German and even visits Germany wouldn't be eligible. Although it's extreme and will never happen, I do think that grandparents or great grandparents connection thing is nonsense.
not 100% sure but the other 2 triple nationals the Nmecha brothers that came from Germany (also German mom and visit their family frequently). I don't think they ever really played for clubs in Germany. Felix was like 6-7 and Lukas was like 9, but I recall I believe Lukas said that he didn't pick up football for real (as in club football) until he moved to England. so those 2 seem to be fully British players with England being their adopted country.
Huddersfield GK Giosué Bellagambi has been called up to the Italian U19 squad for a training camp and friendly against the U21s. Absolutely no chance he makes the final squad for the U19 Euros though.
Nothing much but here is the story how Musiala moved to England and Chelsea: https://www.osthessen-zeitung.de/ei...r-wechselt-zu-englischem-proficlub-fotos.html https://www.osthessen-zeitung.de/ei...-sich-fuer-chelsea-entschieden-vier-tore.html
Glatzel had an interview with German media and he says no final decision but for now prefers Germany. SPORT1: You played in the junior national teams already for England, most recently for Germany in the U18. Which country do you want to play for in the future? Glatzel: I have not made a decision yet, but at the moment I see it that I would like to play for Germany, because my family also comes from Germany. I want to make you proud. That probably works better if I play for Germany. https://www.sport1.de/fussball/cham...gen-klopp-und-steven-gerrard-sport1-interview also wonder how much Klopp influenced his decision? He talked about how he was told to go train with the 1st team and not knowing what to do when he arrived. Klopp came over to him and spoke to him in German asking how he was doing and helping him settle.
I'm not sure he's had much of a decision to make. England have hardly been banging down the door to get him.
does anyone even know that? I mean if you recall Felix Nmecha was ignored by England for 2 and a half years but once Germany called him up, suddenly England was interested in him again. Keanan Bennetts was called up by Germany U15 1st and according to his dad, England only became interested in his son due to Germany call up and then U16-U19 was England. besides Glatzel has been involved with Germany since the U17 days as he was called up to Camps but than got his long term injury. Which means he's been in Germany camp since the Fall 2017.
USA-born, England-raised Duane Holmes made his USA debut today. He was out injured for the promotion final which Derby lost to Aston Villa (likely would have started), but was healthy in time for the current US camp. He was good and the rest of the midfield (albeit missing Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie) played poorly, to put it kindly. Ugly loss to Jamaica in stark contrast with the U20 World Cup victory over France. Seems clear that for now the best US midfield is Adams/McKennie/Holmes with Pulisic on the wing. It won't happen, though.
The Sweaties are at it again. Want Che Adams, Ryan Fredericks and Harvey Barnes. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...n-Fredericks-Harvey-Barnes-play-Scotland.html
First two but harvey barnes wont turn his back on england..theres no way he will pick scotland at this stage
I used to think it was a possibility, but now that he's starting for Leicester I'd be surprised if he switched to Scotland at this point.
Che Adams has already turned Scotland down not so long ago if memory serves me right and if he can get a transfer to a Premier League team this Summer which is a possibility then he might not be that far away from an England call up.
Quite interested to see how Guyana do at the Gold Cup. Have a few ex-England youth players who are now playing in non league football. The likes of Matt Briggs, Keanu Marsh-Brown and Callum Harriott all gained England youth caps. Anthony Jeffrey was at Arsenal in his youth. Neil Danns is captain and the Canadian keeper who scored past Pickford at the U17 World Cup is also in their squad.

Not sure what to make of that tweet tbh as couldn’t really get the translation. Does this mean he wants to play for Columbia again?
Yeah. He is in Colombia on holiday. Says he supports Deportivo Cali and his dream is to play for the Colombian national team.
Seems like another article that's not even worth giving any thought to until he's actually in a Colombia squad. He was one kick away from currently being in an England training camp prior to a major tournament.
He's probably just keeping the Colombian press sweet in case he chooses Colombia. He puts up images of himself playing for England on his Instagram. I expect he'll do what most do, he'll wait to see if he's good enough for England, and then if he's not then he'll play for Colombia instead.
Just as a wider point, is anyone else slightly concerned that if some of these academy players start going abroad at a younger age (16>) then we might start to see more heads being turned to whichever countries they move to? The Musiala one got me thinking this, however there has also been links of Harvey Elliott moving and Louie Barry etc. I have been all for young English players moving abroad up to now for more game time and learning new styles of play, cultures etc to make them better players long-term, but not if they end up defecting!
I’m not to concerned to be honest if they are 16 and moving abroad, especially if they have been born & raised in England and have parents or one that is English. I would be amazed for example if Harvey Elliot moves to Spain and say in 5 years decides that he wants to play for Spain. For me, that would be a heads gone and before anyone says Diego Costa, like I say heads gone. If they move at say under 10 years old then that could be another story but even then I think you have a good chance of keeping them, casing point being Eric Dier who moved to Portugal aged 8. Musiala is obviously a different scenario since he was born in Germany & I think has one German parent.
He helped Ireland get to the semi final today too and is getting plenty of plaudits on social media from what I can see. I hope for his sake, Ireland is the Country he feels he belongs to and not just there for the experience as England youth teams messed him about because if he was to do a Grealish or Rice in the next few years, he’s going to get pelters from the Irish and they will have another meltdown about picking English Granny rule qualified players.
