I dunno. I thought it was interesting that when the injuries piled up in the last set of internationals and moving Abraham and Wan-Bissaka up to the seniors looked like the obvious move, both of them suddenly pulled out of the U21 squad with mysterious injuries and then played the next weekend.
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...-starlet-targets-england-callup-a4135976.html "The aim is England. I am happy playing with England and representing England, so that is what I am going to continue doing." Nice to see a young player be so clear about his intentions. Obviously good news for us too.
To be fair, I have seen him state one or two times in previous interviews that he was gonna stick with England. I think it's just another typical African newspaper spouting a load of bull again. How many times does this lad has to say he's staying with us?
Great to hear. Bugs me when african websites say 'ghana's odoi' or 'nigeria's ali'. Like they are from there
Don't blame the African papers, blame the UK papers. They just all react to eachother and build a story out of thin air. Then people on here bite for it each time.
Tom Dele-Bashiru is in the Nigerian squad for the U20 World Cup. Bournemouth's Nnamdi Ofoborh also going.
I know that Glatzel hasn’t made a decision on his international allegiance yet but is there a feeling of him being more inclined toward one side?
03-Arrey-Mbi called up to Germany U16. his goal was the winning one in a 3-0 win. but I do feel like I agree although he says he's still open, Germany does seem to have the edge. I think one thing that might go against England is that he was ignored for over 2 years by you guys. Not sure if you know this but Glatzel also made some dfb U17 camps last season in Fall 2017 before he got that long term injury. the other thing that might favor Germany is that Germany 01 is a weak age group for strikers much weaker than 99-00-02-03. So him making if for Germany in his age group much more easier than the more crowded England 01s.

Not that he's going to play for England any time soon but Ravel Morrison has been named in Jamaica's prelim squad for the Gold Cup
I remember when Zaha and Morrison played in Englands u21s together ( and almost had a fight lol) and now neither of them are playing for us.
Quite pathetic how teams like Ireland and Wales call up untried youngsters to tie them to their countries.
USA U23 roster named today includes Stanford University goalkeeper Andrew Thomas, a London native who was previously with Watford's academy. He holds USA/UK/Russian citizenship. He's one of many former English academy products who have moved to the US to play college/university soccer. Cameron Carter-Vickers, Antonee Robinson, and Marlon Fossey are also in the U23 camp, as would be expected. Called to the US senior roster was Derby County attacking mid Duane Holmes, who has a showdown on Monday vs. Aston Villa for promotion. He's had a pretty good season, certainly compared to some other attacking mids the US have used. If he does start at Wembley and earns Premier League promotion, it will be hard to argue against him jumping directly into the US senior starting lineup, not just the roster.
Michael Olise of Reading has been called up to the French squad for the Toulon Tournament. Had no idea he was eligible for them.
Looking at France's squad, I really hope we give a few places to our 00s and 01s: give a chance to younger players with higher ceilings.
Dont know if anyone has mentioned him before but Luca Connell, the Bolton player who got picked for Ireland, has just pulled out their squad with an 'injury'. There's been talk of him being looked at by England. Could have another declan rice situation on our hands
