This graphic is useful. xG map of today’s DFB Pokal. While it wasn’t his best game and he was probably taken out due to fitness issues, there was a noticeable difference when Adams was taken out. pic.twitter.com/zH7JyQdhGX— Daniel (@DanielSmith1022) May 25, 2019 Basically, in the 64 minutes that TA was on the field, BM had a xG of .75, in the 30 minutes he was off the field BM had a xG of 1.75. As for the goal while he was on the field, that may be the most lethal/clever header I have seen this year. I like Kampl a lot, but boy was he garbage, he didn’t do anything that I can recall other than be out of position...the entire game.
IIRC, Kicker gave Adams a 2.89 for the season, which would place him as its 17th highest rated player in the entire Bundesliga if he had played enough matches. I also remember Pulisic being rated highly for his Bundesliga (not CL) performances, but no other player was rated close to Adams.
Not exactly. It's only 1 to 5 in German schools. Kicker added a 6 for Bobby Wood. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler PS: Actually in high school they do use a 6, 1 to 5 is for college/trade school grading.
Yep. A 5 is like an F in the USA, FAIL! 6 in Germany is literally like a zero, worse than a failure. A true and complete loser.
Pep moves a CB into the DM slot in attack and he's a genius, Arena moves a DM into the CB slot in defense and he's a loser. Sigh.
One thing is that it is not as simple as putting a DM at CB or RB, it is creating a different type of role and position. I think the point for Pep was that he felt confident that Fernandinho was talented enough to handle the defensive and positioning responsibilities and that he could actually transition when in the attack and become an additional midfielder. Pigeonholing the position as a RB or a CB does not accurately depict what is being asked of the player.
more a matter of curiosity and at the risk of opening pandoras box, in perusing transfermarkt i noticed that tyler adams is still only valued at 4.5 million while mckennie is at 20 million. any idea why adams wouldnt have seen a pop? just not enough minutes for their algo?
Maybe its based on their adjustment ratings? I always wondered when they do their evaluations. Perhaps Fall, January signing, then summer?
