As I've said early in the past few games, Mewis should have done better there.

We missed it, but the US finally punished the Mexican goalkeeper with pressure. The defender wasn't paying attention and Heath picked up the ball for an easy finish.

I absolutely detest the replays of failures while the match is actively being played, even goal kicks and throw ins. But you see that all over the world. I guess there are people that enjoy watching failures over and over.

 

Rose needs to send that ball a little easier and that makes it easier for her and for Alex.

 

Realistically there has been very little need for her to do anything much.

We've got to remember that the primary objective of this match is to avoid injury, everything else is secondary.

 

She was a part of a few unforced turnovers.

 

She is playing well out of her comfort zone. She has never played well when trying to avoid injury. She need contact and hard challenges to play her best. Ertz does NOT equal "soft."
