Yes, they don't relay have surname in Iceland. 'Brynjarsdottir' literally means Brynjars daughter and on Iceland it actually have just that meaning. Unlike the rest of Scandinavia where patronymic have turned into regular surname.

Well, the mystery of Jamaica's 23rd player has just been solved on the WWC 2019 rosters thread by @FawcettFan14:

So, it was another Jamaican-American double citizen, Havana Solaun. ;)

For the American-born, Thai international, though, the opening match will have greater meaning than for most as Nild prepares to represent her father’s homeland against the nation in which she was raised.

“I was watching the draw live and it was such a wave of emotion when I realized that Thailand would be playing our first match against the USA, and when I saw those cards being placed side-by-side I couldn’t believe it,” she told mycujoo this week from the Thai capital.

“It will definitely be such an emotional game for me and the coolest of my life as I get to stand on the same pitch as so many players that I looked up to when I was growing up – the likes of Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath and especially Alex Morgan, who went to the same college as me in California.”

While admitting it might be slightly awkward given she could be tempted to sing both national anthems, the opportunity of a lifetime is not lost on the young star who will return briefly to America before the World Cup to complete her college graduation.

48' 2-2 Scotland square pass through circle back, #15 Howard clangs ball away, steps to it and tries a one-touch pass square right. K.Shaw jumps the route, pokes ball into a breakaway, alone through box top right post to 12m 3-right. GK comes out, Shaw chips right instep over her, into 1/3 left back 1/4 high.

68' 3-2 Scotland right ck, to Howard unmarked at 8m 7-left. Standing header perfectly across mouth, drops into back right low. Jamaica had only 10 players due to a right shin/ankle injury to Shaw, not yet subbed.

    Estelle Johnson profile:

    https://equalizersoccer.com/2019/06...stelle-johnson-living-the-dream-for-cameroon/

Johnson’s father had a career in agriculture and joined the Peace Corps, which took him all over Africa in the 1980s and 1990s. Along the way he met Estelle’s mom, who is from Mali, and on July 21, 1988 Estelle Johnson was born —in Maroua, Cameroon.

Johnson may be Cameroonian and she is also American, and like every other top player in the United States, she dreamed of playing for the U.S. national team. But she never even got as far as a call-in to camp and with her near-retirement in 2014 had pushed the dream to the back of her mind. But watching that Cameroon team in the 2015 World Cup revitalized her energy and belief that she could play for a national team. She decided to reach out through a contact set up by then Spirit teammate Francisca Ordega, a Nigerian international.

Alain Djeumfa took over as head coach earlier this year, and with a little help from former NWSL player and Cameroonian Michaela Abam, Johnson was in. She has been training at center back and is a good bet to be in the starting lineup when Cameroon opens the World Cup against Canada on June 10 in Montpellier.
