Kroenke cares about money and the bottom line.

No, and he only has one more year on his deal, so depending on finances it may not make sense to fire him (though if it's a couple of million to pay the buyouts, fire that fool now).

Arteta would be a good hire. More on that below. Otherwise: Hasenhuttl did a good job at Leipzig, plus whoever the other contenders were last summer.

Regarding Arteta, I saw nothing indicating that he turned the job down: it was more that he thought the job was his and the club did a 180 at the last minute (with Gazidis's infamous "those who know know" comment).

But Arsenal tried really hard to get him to join the coaching staff immediately after he retired (a good sign, because they've historically dithered when it comes to bringing former players on board), and Man City went after him and got him. Plus, he's spent the last three years learning from Guardiola.

Is any of this dispositive, or even a guarantee? Of course not. But it's decent circumstantial evidence that he's a promising manager. I mean, how often do two clubs in the Champions League try to get the same former player to be an assistant immediately after he retires?

Still he is unproven as he has never managed

If we win the europa I will be happy with this season more than unhappy but it has still had lots of shit moments

There are not many good managers available. I was pretty high on jardim but he’s back at Monaco and sarri has been shit at Chelsea

We're not going to get someone with a proven track record of being a net positive. But it's worth taking a risk to get someone like that, instead of being stuck with the Iberian Allardyce, who's turned us into a very lucky 8th place side.

Very true. So if you're a top flight manager looking for a go if it in the English Premier League next season, which club is the more attractive opportunity??

    Arsenal or Chelsea?

This is hypothetical obviously since Emery isn't going to be fired, but I think the choice would depend on the manager and what they value.

While Chelsea offers financial backing with "Win Now" expectations on a short leash, what does Arsenal offer a manager now? I'm honestly not sure I know at this stage. What does the opportunity to manager Arsenal look like on paper for a potential manager? How would you characterize it?

Don't worry. After tonight's work out I plan to get drunk enough to push through my anger and will put up the new thread. Yay.

Arsenal probably offers an opportunity to work the full length of a contract, because we're not gonna pay 2 managers

I guess this means they'll be airing Man City and/or Liverpool on NBC.

Yup. Those two are split between NBC and NBCSN.

Kudos to Jack for giving words of support for our trip to the Mestalla. And for using the pronoun "we" when talking about Arsenal and our chances

Not sure when we'll have a new thread, so I guess this one will have to do for the time being...

News starting to trickle out of Arsenal: https://www.arsenal.com/news/travelling-squad-confirmed-valencia

Thankfully there seem to be no new/significant injuries, so the 21-man squad has all the usual suspects, except perhaps Mavropanos... but then he's not exactly been "usual" for us.

No NBC Gold, they are airing every game on free channels.
