    Yeah this.

I very much hope that we win the EL, but whether we do or don't we need 100-200 MM GBP legit capital investment without any bullshit about a self-sustaining model. We can return to self-sustaining after that if need be.

I've been more optimistic than most here for a while, but this was genuinely the most aggravating Arsenal performance I've seen in a long time, and there have been some bad ones recently.

With the benefit of hindsight, last summer went about as well as you could expect. Leno, Torreira and Guendouzi were excellent buys who will be mainstays at the club for a long time. Sokratis was a big upgrade in a need position. Even Lichsteiner, who is crap at football, helped make us tougher and improved our culture.

And tbh, I don't think we could ask any more out of the manager than what we got. The only thing I think he might have done better is getting more from Lacazette and PEA, who should be worth a half-dozen goals more each, even with the crap service they've gotten all year. Most of the complaints seem to be about poor selections in the midfield, but I don't blame Emery for those. The options have been very meager. Moe is crap, Ramsey is hurt, Xhaka is either hurt, crap, or suspended. We've put more on Torreira and Guendouzi than they can handle at this part of their careers. Emery loses whether he plays them or rotates. Alan Hansen famously once said that you don't win anything with kids. He might have been wrong then but he's right now at least as it pertains to Arsenal.

So in spite of a number of things which worked out well for us, this is where we are.

You gotta figure we need or we'll have Mustafi, Xhaka, Moe, Monreal, Lichsteiner, Cech, Welbeck, Ramsey all out, plus at least one of Iwobi and Miki, and maybe even a couple others after that. We can have legitimate hope that AMN, ESR and Reiss Nelson can all legit play for us. Even so, we need a least a half dozen signings and good ones at that, not just 3-4.

I know we didn't win but I'd still like to thank Duzy for killing that 2vs1 counter at the end, after Iwobi stuffed his pass/shot/whatever it was from the corner and sprung their counter. Would have been an easy tap in and we lose to freaking Brighton at home, last game of the season, with top 4 in play..

You owe Wenger an apology. It was never this bad under him.

Big Weng? Die? Haha. “7am kickoff” has it all figure out.

I’d bet that keyboard warrior never has played a high level game in his life.

Playing the game at a high level doesn’t mean anything

Lots of good players are thick

I have reasons for defending emery to an extent but like prince said, he is far too negative sometimes

The only people that played today i'd be slightly disappointed didn't play for Arsenal next season are Torreira, Leno and Lacazette

We had third place all but wrapped up a month ago. All we had to do was play well, and then did this at home against a bad team:

We're going to rival Dortmund for the biggest choke this season.

Just got a chance to watch the game. Was Iwobi under orders to mess up the game for us? Miki hurt us. Terrible turnover that led to the goal. Our set pieces are terrible. How do we constantly serve the ball to the place we have no runners?

Choke job by players and coach. Emery can’t be given a pass on this. A quality coach gets more than 1 of 18 pts.

To everyone who's ready to ship Emery after 1 season (which hasn't ended, mind you, and we may very well be playing in the Europa League final in 4 weeks) I have 2 questions:

    1) Do you believe for one second Emery is going to be fired after this season?
    2) Who's would you replace him with?

Unfortunately, not this season. We’re too nice to sack him. Not ambitious enough

Club is in a world of shit and we watch Aaron Ramsey (the best servant to the Club in the last 10+years) walk out the door. Wow. I was pretty sure I'd seen the low point of the Club previously but maybe not. Total reboot required but it won't happen. We'll stay the same stagnant Arsenal. Very very concerning. Even if we somehow get our asses into CL- we'll just shit the bed there also.

I love Ramsey the man and as a player but I don't understand fans.

Most of Ramsey's time here was "get him out of here!"...."he's injured too often"....which were fair points, but now its "we should have built the team around him".

I need someone to explain to me (like I'm 2 years old) why Mikel Arteta is the answer to Arsenal's prayers.

I'm not going to pretend I know what happened, but didn't we offer him the position with zero control over transfers and he turned it down?

What makes anyone here even think Arsenal football club wants what you think the club needs?

Stan Kroenke doesn't give a sh*t about how Arsenal performs on the field. Most of you are going to have to give up supporting this club before anything close to the things you desire are even considered. That's the reality of being owned by this real estate mogul.

Look no further than how he operates his teams in the states.

Why are we upset Ramsey is leaving? He's injured half the time, doesn't play his position in his position, and doesn't score or assist at a high enough rate. Even with Wales he was dragged along by Bale.

    We won't miss him.

Man, that penalty surrendered is gonna haunt me for days. Impossibly cheap. While the striker would be justifiably ridiculed in to death in playground ball for diving there's no need to the defender to touch him in anyway. Absolute stupidity. And that's, what, the 4th goal that Arsenal have surrendered in such insane fashion?

This team needs to build a lock down defense. Such is what propelled Liverpool of late and that made the start of Wenger's tenure so successful. None of this will change until the team can stop killing itself.

Sure I was pissed at the time when Mkhi & Xhaka basically gave up that goal, but soon after I reflected on things and decided the 2 PK's were ultra-soft and basically cancelled themselves out. Thus we deserved a draw.

EXCEPT when you factor in the many good chances we squandered, especially by PEA. When I think about this game that's the lasting memory, and the salient factor I think. It wasn't really our defense that lost us the 3pts, it was our impotent offense.

I guess we need a new thread, so we can talk about how Valencia fared a little better Sunday at home than we did. They won 6-2 (5-0 at HT!). Oh boy this could be fun at the Mestalla!

    Arteta is not the answer

    Emery seemingly may not be

Facts is facts, Arsenal are a uefa cup level team, top six

We probably won’t win the uefa cup so let’s get used to mediocrity

If you think Stan cares you would be mistaken
