I've invented this injury nonsense? It's been obvious and is no coincidence that he's been nowhere near the same player he was after he injured his ankle in the Pool game at OT. And then, we've seen how he had to come off last weekend because of a shoulder injury and was a doubt pretty much all week. And you believe he's anywhere close to 100%?
He's not the finished article yet, but don't pretend that him having to play thru niggling injuries constantly for the last few weeks/months, hasn't had any direct impact on his form.
You like to talk constantly about other people whose opinions on players is influenced by their bias and a clear agenda, but your constant railing on Rashford is no better, if we're being honest...

Lukaku, Martial, Greenwood, Lingard injured and Sanchez went off injured.

So unless you have a player you would rather have played at #9, criticism of Rash selection in this particular game is a bit redundant.

Agree though that his performance has been way off in recent games and was well off in this one.

I've been on him because hes the guy that despite his poor play keeps getting 90 minutes. Lately I get it because of injuries to our other forwards. But since Ole took over he's been undroppable despite being only good for the first handful of games under Ole.

As for the injury, he had an ankle problem months ago. That can't be the excuse all season. It's game 37, everyone has knocks and are worn down. If he's so hurt that he can't put in a decent shift, then he shouldn't be out there.

Our forward line has been in a constant state of flux in recent months because of injuries. Rashford could have been spelled more, but it's very obvious also that the absence or unavailability of others, have clearly forced Ole's hands as well.
It can be argued that Ole could have been smarter and taken him out of the line of fire, but there is something to be said for the fact that Rashford still wants to go out there and give his best, even when he's clearly not anywhere near full fitness either. Started the game last week vs Chelsea with an injured shoulder and only came off when it was clear he no longer could go on, most likely from the discomfort and pain. Same thing with his ankle injury vs Pool: should have come off, but he couldn't and he continued, giving it his all, despite surely being in lots of pain. That certainly did him no favors going forward.
He's been on a very poor run of form: that is a simple fact, but it is worth looking at the timing and circumstances around it, and surely then they can not be simply ignored or swept aside that easily...

Rashford hurt one ankle against Liverpool.

He then had to sit out the Wolves league game because of an injury to his other ankle.

Last he was subbed off against Chelsea with a shoulder injury.

He's been hurt on/off all run-in. Whether or not that's the reason for his drop in form is something we will find out next season.

This is his worst run in a United uniform in his career. By far. He's never shown this type of regression and lack of sharpness before with this consistency.

That's what his fan base does, well most of it. I for one don't think he's good enough and I now have doubts that he will ever be better than he is right now. We can continue to use the age excuse all we want

We should have a better, or at least more accurate opinion of what Rashford is all about and ultimately capable of next season. We've seen the very best of him, after Ole arrived, swiftly followed by the worst of him.
It's very likely that his true worth, at the least, is somewhere in between. Whether he can exceed that remains to be seen. 13 goals and 9 assists in all comps is not a bad return, even if we could expect a bit more from him...

If we’re being honest Rashford is often in need of a shapeup as well

For a guy that logged probably more minutes than any other attacker in the team and a majority of them as the 9, that's not near good enough. Especially considering almost all of them came during the post Jose spike period.

I think Rashford has all the physical and technical ability to be very good, but his mental progression has stalled.

Rashford for me is a long way down the list of things that need sorting.

Our attack has been compromised for ages in being one-sided, we have needed a leftie-RWF with pace for ages. We have also needed a decent attacking RB to work with them. Leaves that whole side dead in an attacking sense.

We also for a variety of reasons do not have midfielders who get into the box consistenty either.

Makes it very easy to defend against us.

Rash has been disappointing of late, no arguments there. However with our current setup and organisation, #9 in this current team is a tough gig for anyone.

We need to sort out those other issues first.

The way he shaped up to answer the question made it look like he wanted to say we've seen the last of a few players in a United shirt.

This summer should be fun. At least the club will be busy. I have to believe there will be action. If there isn't, then shareprice will suffer from the backlash and perception of the club management.

I am going to go ahead and admit that I was excited for Ole as the caretaker but have come to find that I do not really care for his management style. We will see how things go next season but I am not too confident.

I am sure guys like Ashley Young and Phil Jones are not the players that will not be with us next season. Those guys show character and good attitude. This is the ambition of the club, currently.

I will also say that Rashford does not pick himself. He was rushed back from injury and then on worked through other injuries because Ole saw a savior in him. I would like to believe that there are things that Ole can coach into Rashford, being that he was a great goalscorer and his decision making was solid.

I have cringed all season at the Top 4 talk. We are not Arsenal.
Clean house. I understand players wanting to play in the CL. We won't be there for a few years.
Go with solid young talent eager to prove themselves and to whom our situation will still be attractive. Sofabloke is correct about every level of the club needing reform.
