That's Levante B in the Segunda B (third division), group three. Not the real Levante from La Liga.

Shaq started and scored today, obviously for the reserve side. Video at 52'.

Let’s hope he gets a decent loan next season. Completely forgot about this guy.

He won't unless he signs a contract extension, since his contract expires at the end of next season. I really don't want him to sign an extension, so I'm rooting for a summer sale.

Guy needs to get out of Spain ASAP. 22 and trapped in a third division is the road to nowhere. Even if he must take it with some Norwegian bottom feeder, anything is better than how it is now.

For the first time this season, Shaq is in the convocatoria (a ton of injuries and place secure for next season). Levante play Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Disappointing season with Reus going under and then to be stuck on the Levante B team, but perhaps a positive final game.

He's been playing 90 regularly in the third division, so at least he must be in shape.

Three changes and he didn't come in. I woke up early for nothing.

You of all people should know not to expect a Yank in Spain to play. [emoji6]

The game was irrelevant enough for him to play.

Would it help if he changed his last name to Lopez?

It was always going to be a risk. Less and less opportunities for Yanks in Spain, but I applaud him for trying.

The preseason starts this week for Levante, but it looks like he will be heading out on loan once again.

Last week Levante signed an additional RB - Jorge Miramon - who started 30 games last season in La Liga for Huesca. With Miramon and Coke, Shaq is unlikely to stick around. Hopefully a much better loan situation this time around.

So the season before last, he did alright for a few games right? It seems like he's given the rope around his entire career in Spain.

During 17-18 he made seven starts (5 in La Liga, 2 in Copa del Rey). I would say alright is a fair assessment in those games.

I recall that he seemed to get a lot of praise for those matches though when he was no.2 at his position and yet continually sent on loan.

    Jealous.

If I was a talented enough athlete to play second-division football around the world, Tenerife would be extremely high on my list of preferred destinations.

talented enough to get a ton of hype on BigSoccer YA forum... but we all have tinted glasses (as do many YA sites). I think he performed adequately, but was largely there as an emergency measure and the club has consistently looked for other alternatives, including signing new players and loanees.

Tenerife.....sign me up! What a location! The Segunda Division isn't a bad place to land. Shaq knows the league well due to his time at Rues. It should also be noted Tenerife's manager Artiz López Garai was formerly the manager at Rues. I don't think Shaq actually played for him. I think he exited and took the job at Numancia before Shaq's arrival. Nonetheless, there's a connection of sorts.

My knowledge of Tenerife's squad is lacking, but they do have a consistent No. 1 at RB returning based on what I can find. Luis Perez started 34 matches last season. Perhaps, he is headed elsewhere, but that doesn't sound like a good landing spot in terms of playing time.
