The fox sports to go app will not allow you to cast on a TV . Is that app on xbox1 or Ps4? Just wondering when I’m traveling and at someone’s house how i can still watch on tv instead of my phone
Apple TV or Roku, Amazon Fire, etc. If they don't have Fox Sports. If you are out of the area, you probably need ESPN+. Again, Apple TV or Roku, etc.
I have a Apple iPhone and a adapter that goes to hdmi to watch tv at my house upstairs . Will that work at someone else house tho ?
Buy a chromecast. Cheap, small and quality is great. You can cast from your phone and still have full functionality.
Ok, at the risk of being scolded by Kryptonite, why are all the Crew replays now blacked out for me in the ESPN app? I showed up late to the DC game and had some time today to watch it, no dice. I understand why it would be blacked out during the live event, but more than a week later? Same for Dynamo game and the other 3 I checked.
Aren't we geofenced out from watching Crew games entirely on ESPN+? It probably looks at the zip code on your billing credit card.
I tried that before complaining. Crew games are not listed in the replays section. Just a bunch of Bundesliga from last weekend. Searching for "Crew" returns the Dynamo game that is on right now that I can restart, but no other games. I could see the blackout extending a week, but indefinitely?
My guess is this has to do with Fox Sports not wanting to provide the replays despite owning the rights to them. ESPN+ has to black them out because of the contract language in Fox Sports deal but there's nothing contracting Fox Sports to have them available for viewing on demand. I know they've had them available for at least a little time as I've rewatched a couple games on the day or two after it but I'm seeing the same thing you mentioned right now, the Dynamo match is currently on but everything else is just match highlights.
The frustrating thing is the change. I screen capped a couple things from a Crew replay on ESPN app a few weeks ago, so I was able to watch then. Now, no dice. I guess I just saved $5.99/mo.
Yeah, as a cord cutter from a few years ago (a decision I have never regret), I'll be cancelling my ESPN+ membership, as well. I do like some of the content on there, and in theory would watch some MLS matches from other clubs. In theory. In fact, I barely have time to watch Crew games. I can see home games live at Mapfre. Away matches??? I never stay up for west coast games. For games I really want to see, the ESPN+ money saved will buy me a few beers at Endeavor. Otherwise, the 20 minute condensed matches on the MLS app are tough to beat.
I just checked and you are correct. ESPN+ does not have the rights to stream live or replay Crew games in the areas where Fox Sports has the rights. Fox Sports only has replays for 2-3 days after a game has ended it appears. It'd be nice if Fox Sports Go held replays longer, though I find it slightly more intuitive than ESPN+ when looking for replays.
The ol ESPN+ bait & switch. Last year it was stated that it was due to the late implementation of ESPN+ (if only they knew how to look at a calendar and see when the season was going to start), not sure why this year had no blackouts for the first portion of the season. Almost like they are willing to overlook contract situations when it helps them gain subscribers.
Fun fact I learned when I was in Colorado. I use Playstation Vue as my 'cable' provider. It comes with free DVR included. I DVR'd the Crew games on Fox Sports Ohio. When I returned to the condo after a day of exploring, I was curious and logged onto Playstation Vue from my Laptop. Playstation Vue recognized that I was in Denver, so it switched over all of the local channels to the local Denver channels, and the sports channels to the Denver's as well. However, I was able to access my DVR, and watch the Fox Sports Ohio DVR recording and watch the Crew lose to Portland and then later, to DC. I thought that was pretty neat.
I think ESPN+ is just really bad at geolocating. I live in Dayton and can watch FC Cincinnati games on it, but my neighbor can't. I am sure that will probably change or switch at some point. Their blackouts have been really weird this season.
Yeah, FCC matches are really ********y in Dayton. I've watched a couple from my house and been blacked out other times.
No, she gave it back to the fella right after confirmation mass last night; thrust the rag right into his chest. He was munching on a piece of cake. Caught him off guard. My little girl is an ice-cold killer. EDIT: The Wife Lady did let D#1 know that, next time, she should choose a better setting to breakup.
Here in Middletown I cannot watch fc Cincinnati on espn+ because it's blacked out but I can watch it over the air from a Cincinnati station! I can and do watch Columbus Crew on espn+!
Great trip. Didn’t care too much for Denver, but loved the smaller towns in between that and aspen. I managed to have a great time despite not skiing or snowboarding at all during 5 days in aspen. Just a lot of fun to go hiking, running and exploring in the beautiful mountains, natural hot springs and more. Sucked missing two crew games I had tickets to, but I was able to exchange one for an extra ticket later, and I gave my Euro snob friend a ticket to get to go watch his idol Wayne Rooney in person. He got more out of that than I would have. Just wished we won those games. Hate missing games, but when your fiancé works in events, you take the weekends and time off you are able to get. Happy to be back at my regular altitude level.
