With his latest hammie injury it's now apparent that his season, and thus his Arsenal career, are now done. He was one of the most professional of professionals we've had. Got along with the boss. Played whatever role he was asked. Generally stayed out of controversy. Had moments of brilliance, and patches of dominance. Essentially won us a couple of FA Cup Finals. And of course long spells of downtime due to injuries. The horrendous leg break aside, his "achilles heel" was really those recurring soft-tissue injuries. This season he seemed to avoid injury for a longer stretch than usual, and in the 2nd half he was absolutely vital to our progress in the Prem and Europa. We've faltered badly since he went down. In the words of the great Joni Mitchell... sometimes you don't know what you've got til it's gone. Aaron, we wish you all the best luck at Juve. Especially with the injuries. If we can somehow steal our way back into the UCL, maybe we'll meet you there some day.
Agree wholeheartedly with everything except the bolded part. I just don't think you can put the leg break aside, as I believe it indirectly if not directly contributed to the parade of soft-tissue injuries he suffered thereafter. Many orthos and PT folks will tell you that breaks like that contribute to all sorts of muscular imbalances, which often result in strains. But yeah, I wish him nothing but success unless he's playing against us.
Could very well be. I just heard an Abu Diaby interview where he said he believes his injury-plagued career was a direct result of that initial, horrendous ankle injury. Question: for Ramsey can you (or anyone) support your conclusion with data? Did he miss more time (on average!) from soft-tissue injuries after his leg break compared to before? The other factor is age I suppose. For both he & Diaby they were relatively young at the time of their traumatic injuries, so it stands to reason that they would've been less injury-prone during the prior (younger) period, compared to the later (older) period.
Ramsey, diaby and Eduardo I’m certain we have at least one more prem title without their compound fractures happening
Transfer mrkt doesn't show any significant amount of missed matches prior to his leg injury, but he was 19 when it happened in February of 2010, so the sample size prior to the injury is small. https://www.transfermarkt.com/aaron-ramsey/verletzungen/spieler/50057
