I was unable to attend the game Saturday, but I had my TIVO set to record it ... and then when I tried to play it back, it was baseball! I guess the A's pre-empted the Quakes? Usually in the past they have re-aired games on the SportsNet channel, so I thought no big deal, I'll record one of those, but I looked in the Guide and didn't find any! Very disappointed. I was wondering if anyone else had better luck with recording the match, and if there's any way I could see it?

Mods: I have seen the results (win/draw/loss) but not yet the score or any details about what happened, so please don't merge this with the post-game thread.

There's evidently footage of me on the telecast, so all copies had to be destroyed by order of the FCC. :)

    bsman and Earthshaker repped this.

Never mind not minding. Turns out that stream expires 48 hours after game time, and so I was only able to watch a bit of the game before it canceled on me. Also, It's blacked out on ESPN+ apparently! So I'm back to hoping someone has a recording.

Unfortunately it's been deleted. On a side note, not sure how to get it to you anyway.

MLS app? There is a free trial.

Yet more evidence that MLS getting in bed with ESPN was a major middle finger to fans. It sucks to see networks take over the internet and just turn it into what cable TV was. Thankfully, there are ways around it for watching live, but doesn't help much for archives.

I believe I have it on my DirectTV DVR, but I don't know how to get it off for saving purposes?

If the DirecTV DVR works the same way that other ones work, the recording is actually encrypted and requires your DVR to play it back. To get it off you'd have to have something like a DVD recorder hooked up to the DVR and use an analogue signal (Composite or Component) to connect the two.

I used to have that set up, but I think you're correct on the encryption and that precludes saving any more....beyond saving it on that unit until it dies.

Thank goodness Wikileaks won't get ahold of the telecast. :)
