Hey i never got the tag on this. I am on the train and thought i would scroll through. Should i go ti the games to directly ask or have their identities been resolved?
In a YAA thread, @zlatan_but_a_car mentioned that a player by the name of "Kodiak Monge" (a Google searcher's dream name) was on a tryout at a 4th tier club in Spain. Some report him as Mexican-American and he did play at a California HS, but other (translated) reports say he came from Mexico. Here's what I found: Kodiak Monge did play HS soccer in the US, but this article make him sound like a Mexican: https://www.lne.es/deportes/2019/01/22/kodiak-monge-regresa-aviles/2414275.html The Mexican-born striker Kodiak Monge joins again under the orders of Juanma Castañón. The striker has already made the preseason and was the most accurate for the goal. The attacker Jesús Vizcarra, also a Mexican and another old acquaintance, will be in La Toba again, since he was in summer. Kodiak Monge arrived in summer at Avilés, from an amateur club in Mexico, Club Progreso. His landing was curious since the player raffled a television to pay for the ticket. Although there were doubts about his figure left a good taste in the preparation games. But this report about the raffled TV makes it sound like he came over from the US: https://www.elcomercio.es/real-aviles/kodiak-monge-recauda-20180715003018-ntvo.html For the course that begins next Wednesday we already have the first blue and white casting candidate: Kodiak Monge, a Californian from Barwley [ed. - probably Brawley, close to Colexico HS, where he played] of Mexican origin. His arrival in Aviles is confirmed by club sources consulted by this newspaper after receiving information from the Spanish-language digital newspaper, La Voz de la Frontera. And we know it's not easy for a Mexican-born immigrant to get US citizenship without a long wait and/or family who are already citizens.
Is there a protocol? Do i go up to the kid in a usmnt jersey and ask him if he wants to play fir the usa and then offer him an ice cream in my truck?
Dude, you're the one who said "if any guy is in Berlin that you need me to check out let me know." I sort of thought you'd already know the answer to your question. With that said, no, I would not advise that you try to lure Hertha's players into a truck. There's probably a better way.
Guess the mods shut me off in alerts as they did with adu threads. Was only meant as a joke with protocol ovb. Ok will get on it...
With that said shoudnt there be some sort of protocol established? Meaning i assume the absolute number of yank kids abroad will be in berlin and for all the yank abroad fathers as well i think it would be important to establish some sort of congenial strategy. Serious about question. I.e how do i aproach 14-17 year old about nationality?
At present, anyway, it seems like a Google search like this one is a pretty good way to scan FuPa results: staaten "18/19" site:https://www.fupa.net/spieler/ I'll warn you that those results include lots of random dudes at clubs like TSV Grun-Weiss Schmeckelberg 1904, but then, if you're reading this thread, that prospect probably excites you.
I'll admit that I'm sometimes a bit cautious about this if the information is not already public -- I (and, surely others here) certainly know more than I publish, especially when I comes to underage players. I'm generally of the opinion that more disclosure is the way to go -- just saying something like "I'm a fan who occasionally posts things about soccer on a forum, and I'm double-checking some information on the internet about you" seems reasonable. Then, perhaps, you can follow-up by asking if they are comfortable with that information being more widely known. Going through the club or a player's agency, if possible, is another way. Often times I've reached out that way, received a "Who are you and why are you asking" reply, and then, after giving them a satisfactory explanation, heard back from a parent or other qualified party.
20 year old Kosuke William Ide has signed with CD Leganés. He was born in California. Was part of LA Galaxy Youth Academy. Most recently played with Düsseldorfer SC 99.
I found a news report that listed Pallan's post-high school destination as the US Navy. He doesn't appear on the USNA roster, so it may be that he went straight into the service. Waclaw appears to have gone to junior college. http://www.gochiefs.com/sports/msoc/2018-19/bios/waclaw_michael_sxza
T'Markt says an '02 based in the Netherlands named Amadou van Leeuwen was born in Boston. https://www.transfermarkt.de/amadou-van-leeuwen/profil/spieler/653552 This profile (of him and his brother) seems to suggest that's not the case. https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2018/06/0...i-a1605157?utm_source=NRC&utm_medium=whatsapp
T'Markt says a young player at Arminia Ludwigshafen named Suraphael Mangstu is Canadian-American. https://www.transfermarkt.de/suraphael-mangstu/profil/spieler/569489 He is listed there, with the first team. https://www.transfermarkt.de/suraphael-mangstu/profil/spieler/569489 But I can't find out much more about him, including trying a few hopeful variations on his name...
I don't know how useful this will turn out to be, but this seems to be one way to maybe look at the sometimes-interesting Football Manager player database. Try this Google search "united states" site:https://fmdataba.com/19/p/ To filter results, try adding "17 years old" (or another age, as seems worthwhile to you).
There's an '00 named Faris -- last name could be Haq, but maybe also Abdel -- who appears to be at Al-Nasr in some capacity. (This isn't the same guy as '99 Faris Abdi, by the way.) http://uae.agleague.ae/en/person/faris-bilal--fa.html T'Markt has him as American-born, with the U23s. https://www.transfermarkt.com/faris-bilal-abdel-haq/profil/spieler/655422 Soccerway has him with a Cup appearance, and just says USA. https://us.soccerway.com/players/faris-abdel-haq/590217/ I haven't been able to quickly find out more on the club's site. http://www.alnasrclub.com/
Complicated by the naming conventions in some Arab countries. Justin Meram's official name in Iraq is "Justin Hikmat Aziz".
FWIW Zeebergia is in Amsterdam, so it's likely some poster will be through there in the next little bit. IIRC they are out past Oosterpark a little ways. Hey @feyenoordsoccerfan - next time you're in Amsterdam, swing by the Zeebergia training ground, find out where the van Leeuwen bros were born and if they're better than the Pierie bros!
Zeeburgia often has surprisingly talented players that move on to Ajax or AZ. You simply could email the club, as their mother is in charge over there! https://www.zeeburgia.nl/880/marianne-van-leeuwen/
The Transfermarkt page seems to have been deleted, but the Google cache of it lists his place of birth as "Wisconsin" and says he is a dual citizen of the USA and Jordan. This appears to be his highlight reel from the Al-Wahda youth team where he played before transferring to Al-Nasr. The description says "Jordan U-19"... ...and here's a Jordanian U-19 national team roster, listing a Faris Abdul Haq. https://www.jfa.jo/montkbat.php?id=3&title=Men’s-U19-National-Team&lang=en
https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...-named-to-roster-for-first-2019-training-camp Named to Kreis' first U-23 MNT Camp.
There's an '02 named Alex Hathaway in the top youth squad of an Italian team called Fiorenzuola. http://www.fiorenzuolacalcio.it/groups/173633797778/189912727752/alex-hathaway Haven't looked into it much, but T'Markt has him as a Yank. https://www.transfermarkt.de/alex-hathaway/profil/spieler/619717
T'Markt says CA Lanus '02 GK Rocco Rios, a member of Argentina's U17s, was born in Los Angeles. https://www.transfermarkt.de/rocco-rios/profil/spieler/661126 The source for this is probably what appears to be his Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/rocco.riosnovo So, why haven't I posted this as a thread? Well, I haven't found much other mention of it -- and there is a Los Angeles near Buenos Aires, where Lanus is located. But might prove worth watching, so I'll cc @BostonRed. http://www.clublanus.com/secciones/...orgullogranate-en-la-sub-17-campeones-en-peru http://www.afa.com.ar/mobile/noticia.php?control=11885 Played against the U.S. late last year. https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/...-17-mnt-s-first-four-nations-tournament-match Insta: https://www.instagram.com/rocco.rn02/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/rocco_rn_02?lang=en
You'd think this would be bigger news: 1106905834792079360 is not a valid tweet id That leads here (scroll down -- doesn't add much): http://www.usparma.com/news.html He is a real player -- an '00 with Nomads, from New Jersey. http://nomd.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams/index.php?team=7542616&player=542913590 https://twitter.com/anorve11?lang=en https://www.facebook.com/brandon.anorve But I can't easily find more about this, which seems odd given how big a club Valencia is.
Trying to get more detail here, but can report that Valencia says he's not currently there, per a spokesman.
