In @Holmes12 post he used the both the words rat and snitch - I was just trying to clarify what he meant for the benefit of others.
The Code of Omertà is certainly alive and well among the sickeningly wealthy who bear and raise average children. 700 clients... and probably twice as many that passed on Singer's offer to help their offspring jump the line... yet not one narc'd on Singer. Country would be well served if it paid more attention, and was more outraged, by white color crime.
Hip hop legend Dr. Dre was a proud parent over the weekend, bragging on Instagram that his daughter had been accepted to the University of Southern California. Alongside a photo of him with his daughter holding her acceptance package, Dre wrote, “My daughter got accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!” The latter part of the caption was a reference to “Operation Varsity Blues,” the college admissions cheating scheme that has ensnared celebrity parents like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who are accused of paying large bribes to increase their children’s chances of getting into various colleges. But within 24 hours of uploading the post, Dre took it down—after news resurfaced of his financial contributions to USC. A number of people on social media called attention to the fact that Dre, along with his producer Jimmy Iovine, in 2013 made a $70 million donation to the university for the creation of the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. There is no evidence that Dre’s contribution led to his daughter Truly Young’s admittance, nor is there evidence to suggest that she was not admitted on her own merit, but Dre’s caption choice was enough to draw criticism. USC is among a number of schools currently involved in the scandal.
https://news.usc.edu/50816/jimmy-iovine-and-dr-dre-give-70-million-to-create-new-academy-at-usc/ "Entrepreneurs and music industry icons Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre (Andre Young), already known as forward-thinking visionaries in music and business, are giving $70 million to USC to create a unique undergraduate experience." Forward-thinking visionaries are the best kind. Read the linked article in full - there's a lot of great edu-speak to feast upon.
If I had someone who constantly asked the question “why not?” in a work group I’d shoot them. It’s probably a good thing I retired before this degree was offered.
Holmes - Try watching the interview. AK smuggly declares "If I witness something, I'll turn them in, ALL of them!....So now, I have no problem confronting people at the fields and no problem turning them in." He presents himself with righteousness, as one of the few (coaches) that are following the rules. Ha! What an A**
Ironic thing is right in the first 30 seconds he said coaches were out telling his recruits he was gonna be fired...a month after this posted on TDS....He Gone!
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/05/us/harvard-coach-admissions.html Harvard is investigating its longtime fencing coach after learning that he sold his house for a vastly inflated price to the father of a current student, shortly before the student was admitted.
UCLA women’s soccer coach Amanda Cromwell, who oversaw the team the Isacksons’ daughter joined, has not returned calls or emails seeking comment. https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow...ollege-admissions-scandal-20190408-story.html Josh Walters, current James Madison head coach, was the UCLA recruiting coordinator at the time.
Cromwell will surely be out after this. Even worse she will face legal ramifications. Walters possibly the same.
And, rightfully so...if the evidence leads that they "knew". Especially Walters, boasted as a Top Flight recruiter, etc....oops missed one player! If I'm JMU, I'm looking at every "t" and "i" going forward with him!
Here is an interesting article that implicates someone on the USC rowing staff on wire tap. Yet, this person remains employed. https://www.latimes.com/local/calif...n-olivia-jade-crew-rowing-20190412-story.html
UCLA is beyond fishy here. Salcedo set it up, but obviously Walters and Cromwell agreed to adding a non-soccer player to the roster. We know what Salcedo got for it. What did they get?
Slow down the assumptions.... We know Salcedo asked Cromwell to add the kid to the team and gave Cromwell the kid's athletic resume. We know that it's not uncommon for coaches to add a player to the roster whom they know is not up to par with the level of play that would be necessary for the athlete to ever see any playtime. These kids are usually seen as valuable to the team because of the benefit their GPA will bring to the team's overall GPA average. These are players that do not receive Athletic scholarship money, often never see any play time, but are good kids and even better students. They boost the team's overall GPA and sometimes round out the practice team. They also are often legacy kids, or the baseball's coach's wife's niece who wouldn't otherwise be added to the team roster. We DON'T know if Cromwell knew that the kid's soccer resume had untruths. Cromwell would have been long done scouting for that recruiting class. We DON'T know if Cromwell knew that Salcedo was benefiting illegally from this, and We DON'T know if Cromwell received any benefit. I'm not defending Cromwell. I just don't like the "guilty by assumption" that seems to sometimes thrive here.
