Bad. (of course with footie fans you go from hero to goat pretty quickly, but the Yedlin-hate after the arse game was pretty hot.)
I watched the game. Yedlin was not at fault for any of the goals. To my eye, they actually started attacking on his side and switched to the left. I'm an Arsenal fan, btw, and watched to see my team win and watch our boy.
Wouldn't be surprised. Fan reaction in a loss and actual reality don't always jibe. I was on a plane and had to follow on twitter. But twitter is not reality.
Also stumbled on this post of Yedlin's B'mouth assist. I'm sure it was posted early, but hey, start you Sat with a smile... 1114533718742319105 is not a valid tweet id
0-0 at HT. Each team had a goal cancelled for OS. reports are NUFC have had better of play but CP dangerous on counter fwiw. I'm not watching.
58mins: CHANCE! Wow - what a hit! Hayden wins the ball on the edge of the area, plays it to Almiron, who is encouraged to shoot, he cuts on to his right, then feeds Yedlin, who lashes a vicious shot just past the far post. Not far away, that #nufc— Chris Waugh (@ChrisDHWaugh) April 6, 2019
Sounds like it was an all-MLS screw up with Almiron giving the ball away leading up to the PK. At least that os what I read on twitter.
Yedlin was a few minutes from at least returning to neutral in the fan comments... He even got the call on a shoulder-shoulder with Zaha in the box earlier... ouch. Footie is a cruel mistress.
I feel bad and yet don't for DY. Plays a very strong 80 mins and then gets drawn in by Zaha and suckered into a PK. He just has the one cringe worthy moment every game. Having said that Rondon had a couple of chances courtesy of Yedlin and he did not put them away. I don't blame DY for their performance but his mistake cost them the one point.
I would not say he had an excellent game before the PK. He did have an excellent attempt on goal. Overall, he adds very little to Newcastle's offense. If he does not have a ton of space, he is of little use on offense. He simply cannot combine with his teammates.
