Amazed they still charge $20/month for Fox Soccer Match Pass, after Fox has lost the rights in the last year to the: *UEFA Champions League *Europa League *FA Cup *Copa Libertadores *Copa Sudamericana All that's left on it of note is Bundesliga, and the only exclusive in that is 2 matches per week on Saturday, the rest are on the FS1, FS2 and FS+. Unless you absolutely have to watch that Dusseldorf match live on Saturday mornings, it's completely worthless.
Wonder what the future holds for FS2/FS+ with the loss of all that soccer, not to mention UFC. Those channels barely seem sustainable at this point, but I guess they'll stick around through 2022
Anyone know what that heartthrob Michelle Lissel is up to these days? Still miss the Fox Soccer Report. Really hasn't been topped imo.
She's the PR head for the Winnipeg Valour (CPL) and jumbotron host for the Blue Bombers (CFL) https://twitter.com/MichelleLissel
The other day, I was wondering what happened to Derek Rae...and here he is on the Leipzig v Hertha game.
He hosts premier league mid-week studio shows. Will probably be there on Monday. And I've also heard him commentating on rugby on NBCSN - guessing he's back in the US permanently.
I found out that Comcast recently added FS2 for me (non-hd). I had no idea until it showed up as available on the Fox Sports Go landing page.
It made me curious so I methodically went through the hundreds of channels last night. Apparently I also get a cricket channel in HD called Willow. Never got into cricket, but I would definitely watch some Gaelic football again if I got a channel showing that. RIP Setanta.
When FS2 was created, Fios only offered it in SD. I don't remember how long it took for them to add it in HD.
Should I read anything into the fact that Fox Soccer Plus is still on the Fox Sports GO app along with the networks Sinclair bought and didnt migrate to the FOX Sports app with FOX, FS1, FS2, and BTN?
Unfortunately, Gaelic Sports are only on an expensive Gaelic-specific streaming service. They really aren't trying to market it outside of the Irish-American community, in my opinion.
I don't know if anyone has paid attention to this, but I forgot to set the DVR to record the Liga MX 1/2 Final on Fox Deportes. It airs on Thursday afternoon. Has Fox been editing these LigaMX games when airing on delay as they used to do with Libertadores or are these repeats shown in full?
Well, typical Fox Deportes, which is why I am glad they lost the Libertadores and Sudamericana: cut 8 minutes from the second half on the replay and yet kept the pre-game and half-time since it's important for us to hear them talk about the game versus watching the game and so they can cram in more commercials (that anyone watching the repeat is skipping through).
Looks like the first leg of the Bundesliga relegation playoff will be on Thursday at 2:30 Eastern on Fox Soccer Plus, while the return leg will be Monday the 27th at 2:30 on FS2, according to my cable guide.
I put on FS1 at a hotel, and the TV thinks it's Speed. The channel changed names over 5 years 9 months ago!
Catching up on the USWNT's opening match in World Cup and noted a few technical problems which may be due to FOX and/or FIFA's world feed? First thing I noticed was no graphics to display team line-ups and the announcers didn't seem to realize that. (maybe they saw them on their screens?) Then late in the first half the commentary went missing for a long time... just ambient stadium noise for several/many minutes. I know some of you prefer it that way, but certainly that's not what FOX wants. Lastly, a positive comment about Aly Wagner who is a really good co-commentator. She's better than many of the men we have to put up with doing that job, whether they be American or British or whatever.
