Guendouzi havin a pretty good, positive game. I LOVE the way he lets the ball do the work for him, and just turns on it. He's got so much upside.

Yeah as good as we may feel about bringing in Torreira, Guendouzi or Sokratis, I think we're going to feel equally bad about letting Rambo go.

Rambo easily the most influential player in 1T. I’m liking what Özil and Iwobi are bringing offensively as well. Laca seems a step or two off so far.

AMN down and possibly out. Holding his calf or knee? The gesture he made with his hands to describe the nature of it looked like he thinks it's a tear. :( And yet he's on the sidelines contemplating a return? Hmm.

Well he just succeeded in conning the ref. Nacho made a perfectly fine tackle, all ball... but Almiron made a complete meal of it. The ref bought it, and Nacho got a yellow card. Almiron is THAT kind of player... the kind I can't stand, regardless of his other talents.

    Meanwhile...

1-0 is NOT a safe lead. We need another, and soon. COME ON!!

We may be missing Rambo sooner than we think. He's gone down injured and just came off. Walking OK but straight down the tunnel.

Anthony Taylor is doing a pretty shit job today. Really naive officiating.

Ozil having a good game too. At both ends. Whatever psychology Emery might've employed it could be working. :)

Edit: he came off a few mins later... to a STANDING-O

Should be 4-0. Another extremely soft decision to rule out a goal.

should be 3-0 but for some completely dumbfounding reason Taylor rules out that last goal. From what I saw, if anything it was Laca who was being pulled back, and then the goalie knocked it into the goal with his hand. Why exactly was that disallowed???

Lost in all this is that Kolasinac has been worse than Anthony Taylor today.

Rondon sprinting 40 yards to keep a ball from going out for a throw only to be called offside is the most Newcastle thing of all time.

    FT 2-0.

OK it wasn't the best match, and for stretches we weren't completely convincing, but our quality won out, we were just too much for them, and GOT THE JOB DONE. In no small part thanks to Aaron Ramsey's efforts.

On a 10 match home winning streak for the first time since the '98 double team. Emery should be proud of that. And...

    THIRD PLACE BABY!!

Now all we need is for Spurs to drop points on Weds in their shiny new bog, and the universe will be right.

In the right place whenever he needed to be, but did precisely ********-all once he was there. Not quite at it today.

OK, but we had 7 of those 10 shots, and 4 of which were on target. I've seen much worse.

I think Opta Joe might focus on the fact that they only had 3 shots, and 1 on target. ;)

Clean sheet and a win. Very nice. And we limited Almiron to only unfairly getting Monreal booked. Job done.

I thought it was an easy win really, they offered very little and Rondon was completely out numbered

Guendouzi seems to of regressed when he tackles, looks like he pulls out of every 50/50

This may mean absolutely nothing, but I find it interesting. Emery has chosen to start both Ozil and Ramsey in just 7 games this season, all wins, the four league games after the loss to Chelsea at the beginning of the season and in the last three games. In the first four of these games he started Ramsey as the 10 and Ozil as the 11. In the last three he has started Ozil as the 10 and Ramsey as the 8.

In addition, in three of Arsenal's 6 league losses Ramsey and Ozil have played a combined total of less than 35 minutes with one or the other coming on late, when Arsenal were chasing the game.

I haven't noticed that. He still seems to not shy away from close contact. And honestly, when watching him, I've had concerns that he will pick up an injury from that style. So if you're right that he's pulling back a bit, it might actually be smart in terms of preservation.

I didn't watch the game with 100% focus, but I thought he had a good game yesterday.
