This on what Seattle is doing is interesting:

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/17/armchair-analyst-all-24-teams-review-week-3-analysis

Seattle's staff have tinkered a bit early on, taking advantage of Lodeiro's motor – he is the most honest No. 10 in the world when it comes to tracking back and putting in grunt work – by throwing numbers forward with abandon and just overwhelming teams in the attacking third.

    Here's how it works:
This is fun. This is exciting. This is admirable. I've always wanted to believe that if I were the coach of a soccer team, my approach would be "haha you might score two, but we'll score four!" Seattle have been must-see TV in March.

webster says my use is perfect.

my extensive use of the word literally is baffling you which is amazing as it is such a simple word.

Almiron is a better player (though most of the value difference is that he's also younger), but if you don't think Martinez would be getting starts for the USMNT, I don't know what to tell you other than he clearly would.

Indeed, the primary thing you'd want a Morris for is defense-stretching speed and work rate.

oh he could probably start for a team that failed to get out of concacaf...yeah I mean big picture he could start on a bad team that is for sure.

Eddie Johnson commented during the first half of tonight's match about Jordan Morris.

well I hope after last night everyone understands the jordan morris issue.

he can be average in mls but he just isn't an international player he literally managed to play all those minutes without beating a player off the dribble or running by a single guy despite having a bunch of opportunities.

I'd rather he played up top.

I'd like to see him get a good run as the 9.

why are ppl so in love with this guy? first of all, he just came back from injuries and he's already given a chance to start a USMNT game. We really need to look at diff players we are running out of time. I dont see him much different from Robbie Finely.

agree with EJ. The thing is GGG never made any adjustment.

Even though it's well known that he's not a fan of Morris, still he's 1000% correct.

Attacking winger must possess these abilities:

1 - Speed (Morris looks so damn slow, even for a lack luster Ecuador team that's probably playing at 50% of their potentials)

    2 - 1v1 dribbling skills - I can't recall a moment where he takes on a player 1v1 and blast past them

3 - Crossing - You can't cross, if you don't take players 1v1 and run past your marks

Having Morris out on the wing is a waste. Simply put, wrong guy for the job.

Playing International soccer IS NOT THE SAME as playing in the MLS.

Morris rarely faces bunkering defenses in MLS. He's a slasher. And he has elite quickness and pace. But against a bunker, a dribbler or a quick combo-passer is needed. Horses for courses.

Did the injuries and health issues slow Morris down? He looks much more plodding than he did a couple years back when he first showed up. Then, his speed and quickness stood out. Now, he doesn't look like he's going to beat anyone out there for pace.

I'm not a millenial, or born anywhere near the 21st century, but this quote seems to suggest that Eddie is what my millenial daughter would call a hater.

And I said I'm no milennial. But clearly that's what should be on EJ's license plate.

yup i hope GGG get this. We will be facing bunkering team in our region (except Mexico and Costa Rica away).

That's true. But it's some nice drama to watch unfold.
Plays into many dynamics of race/class and social media pointlessness.
