red stars obtain Katie Johnson from sky blue https://www.hottimeinoldtown.com/20...ago-red-stars-sky-blue-fc-katie-johnson-trade
Great move: she was one of the most brilliant Sky Blue's players, in my opinion, if not the most brilliant at all!
It's worth recalling that the "experts" derided Katie Johnson when she was drafted at number 15. She's certainly done better than most players drafted in the second round.

I'm excited to see Katie Johnson and Maria Sanchez play for Chicago this season -- and to see if they can take up the slack when Kerr and others are at the World Cup. Now, if only Huerta were back in Chicago.....
Chicago is so cold today. This morning was -21 F temp and -45 F Wind Chill, maybe more according to news. Insane. Can't wait for summer to come and Red Stars games.
Not happening after all that went down with her and Rory. And here's to hoping she doesn't make a mess of her being in Houston with rumors she's been looking for a trade again.
Seems like the Red Stars are a regular at the Thorns Tournament. http://chicagoredstars.com/red-stars-announce-2019-preseason-schedule/
Chicago Red Stars Down Under are in the Grand Final this coming weekend. From NWSL web site: Several NWSL players will be featured in the Grand Final with Sofia Huerta (Houston Dash), Savannah McCaskill (Sky Blue FC), Caitlin Foord (Portland Thorns FC), Danielle Colaprico (Chicago Red Stars), Alanna Kennedy (Orlando Pride), and Aubrey Bledsoe (Washington Spirit representing Sydney FC and Sam Kerr (Chicago Red Stars), Rachel Hill (Orlando Pride), Nikki Stanton (Chicago Red Stars), Alyssa Mautz (Chicago Red Stars) and Katie Naughton (Chicago Red Stars) representing Perth Glory.
And another Chicago Red Stars player, Yuki Nagasato, has been stopped by Sydney FC in the semifinal (but she has anyway at least scored a goal against them, albeit just in injury time). It was nominated goal of the round : https://www.w-league.com.au/video/goal-round-yuki-nagasato-brisbane-roar-1
Steph McCaffrey is retiring from soccer due to continuing health reasons - sad for her and hoping she can get her health back on track - will miss her! Also, Rosie White is not returning to CRS (maybe after the WWC, fingers crossed) to focus on the WWC prep for New Zealand. She was a weapon to have even if off the bench. This news is per CRS e-mail update I just received. Sad news to lose them both

Davidson signs with Red Stars: http://chicagoredstars.com/tierna-davidson-signs-contract-with-chicago/
Here is the Red Stars defense for this season: Naeher Gilliland Davidson Naughton Short OMG, I can't wait for the season to start.
My projected starting line-up for 2019: Naeher Gilliland Davidson Naughton Short DiBernardo Ertz Colaprico Brian Johnson Kerr Coming in: Yuki Vasconselos Sanchez Elby Stanton Gordon Boyd Mautz If they don't win it this year, I don't know when than.
Another strong squad! Still, they'll have to compete with the NCC machine and whatever moneybags squad POR puts out there.
Red Stars sign Tierna Davidson http://chicagoredstars.com/tierna-davidson-signs-contract-with-chicago/
So far, I don't see anything about any of the tournament games being streamed, and I think ordinarily it would show up by now. So, I'm not very hopeful, although Merlo Field has excellent streaming capability.
