Have we tackled the recruit Freddy to play along side Landon Donovan for the San Diego Sockers angle yet?

He got his first US Cap (and first yellow for simulation) in San Diego guess it would be fitting.

Call me crazy or naive but I always thought indoor soccer or futsal would be an interesting career path for Freddy considering his skill set and shortcomings... good natural technique and flair ability, but limited tactical vision + fitness ability to go a full 90 mins on a full sized pitch.... I genuinely think Freddy should give it a try.. and he might even wind up rediscovering his love for the game this way. Would be good for the league too

Indoor soccer would seem like a natural for Freddy at this point. More emphasis on ball skills. Less emphasis on running and fitness. A publicity boost for a league that needs it. Plus, it's not like he has a bunch of big-time options left.

Your guess is as good as mine. Vegas is great. The Lights are picking up a little momentum with Wynalda, the atmosphere at Cashman was pretty solid last week, $9k, smoke bombs strong. Nice little pre-game party and a 1-0 win over Real Monarchs. I won $60 betting $20 on a Lights straight-up win at the book.

But Freddy could be in the Target across the street from me right now or in Timbuktu. No idea, no clue which way or the other.

He hasn’t posted on any form of social media, or even liked a tweet at all, since he wished everyone a happy new year on 12/31/18.

Maybe Goff or Ives could check in on him.

It has been a long time since he was passionate about the sport. I wish him the best in life, and in finding a life he knows is worth living.

I hope he saved some of that money and didn't spend too much of it on napkin sauce and the like.

How do you measure passion though? Still trying to make it in the USL as recently as last year after so much failure doesn't seem like someone who's not invested in the sport.

True but the point stands they saw their playing time decrease while still relatively young and lost interest enough to quit playing. I'm sure Adu could've had (or still could have) education opportunities available to him. Pursuing an undergraduate degree at an older age isn't that weird.

Doing training. Sounds good. Is this back in DC area?
I always thought when he was retired he would be a blast for youth teams to bring in and do training sessions. Different than coaching.

If I were in charge of a youth team, I will keep my players as far away from Adu as possible.

Maybe but having Adu involved at all would mean you can suck so much more money from the kid's parents and we know that's what it is all about.
