Well, the influx of money apparently being spent is a nice indicator that Mansueto's taken a more active role.

What money? He burned all the TAM /GAM and no DTAM. And, Adidas is paying Basti.

Frankowski is here on DTAM - he is actually the player that alerted MLS fandom that such s thing existed.

I won't believe it until Joe says it himself, that he's bought the other 51%. Until then same-o bullshit.

How much DTAM did we use to sign Frankowski? Because there is only 2.4 million worth, rumor is that it would take DTAM to sign Gaitan. Would we have enough to do so?

How does DTAM work? I'd you use DTAM that player he doesn't count as a DP? I'm assuming that Frankowski, Gaitan and probably Nelisson will be above the DP salary mark, making them DP's.

    2019 Funny money.

    1.2 TAM (2019)
    200k GAM (2019)
    1.2 TAM (Accam)

    2.6 million

    2.8 DTAM

Since we are out of TAM and GAM. Where did it all go?

200k TAM, to get a international spot
    200k TAM, to get Sapong
    100k GAM, to get Sapong
182k TAM, to buy down McCarty (if you go with 2018 budget hit 712k)
65k TAM, to buy down Kapp (if you go with 2018 budget hit 595k)

    That's 747k, still have 1.353 worth

???k TAM, to buy down Marcelo

    Where else?

7 figure fee of DTAM for Frankowski, so probably half of the DTAM, so we have around 1.4 of DTAM. Is that going to be enough to sign Gaitan?

    Owners have to buy DTAM.
Frankowski used pretty much all of our DTAM.

Then I guess we won't be getting Gaitan then, because this article says it would take DTAM to get him.

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...o-fire-closing-nico-gaitan-working-swedish-cb

The source cautioned that the deal isn’t yet complete, but they said that it is trending in a positive direction for Chicago. If it does get done, the source said that the Fire would use Discretionary Targeted Allocation Money to sign Gaitan.

DTAM has been been around a whole year before signing Frankowski.

They can use GAM or TAM to pay for homegrown players.

OK, before today's signing we have four homegrown players, the most a team can use on homegrown players using TAM/GAM is 200k.

    Homegrown Player Subsidy

    • Homegrown Player(s) in roster slots 21-30 may earn in aggregate each year up to $125,000 above the Reserve Minimum Salary (if occupying slots 25-30) or Senior Minimum Salary (if occupying slots 21-24).
    • Clubs may use up to $200,000 of their currently available Targeted Allocation Money (i.e., amounts awarded through 2019) to sign new Homegrown Players to their first MLS contract, subject to League review and approval. Targeted Allocation Money cannot be used on a Homegrown Player previously signed to MLS.
So knowing NRod he using the entire 200k of TAM/GAM on the homegrowns, that leaves 1.153 TAM/GAM

Everyone going to the game tomorrow needs to look for Nico and post on twitter or here. Look in the suites etc. If you don't find him and we find out he was there I will deeply disappointed in our fan base haha

  20. I could be wrong, but I believe that $200k may be funds available to sign players to contracts which may put a team over the cap. Think Jordan Morris.

He is, we just do things way too slow. We were "signing" Basti for around three months before it actually happened.
