Let's hope that Pauno doesn't pull a Hamlett and not play him.

That would just be Pawno pulling a Pawno. IIRC, that's how he started running SJ out of town.

So what you're saying is that you can't wait for the Fire to pluck some obscure depth international players?

I love The Athletic. Well, well worth the ~$50. That said, if the Fire are the only team you follow, that changes the calculus. Since the Trib fell into the abyss, need something to fill the void. And they've done it admirably, IMO. Better than the Trib was even in its heyday (e.g. futbol coverage).

I couldnt agree more. Baseball was my favorite sport up until I was 27. Soccer reigns supreme and nothing comes close

I've got a weird feeling that nothing is going to happen...

  9. As long as you've been around this forum you should be over feeling weird.

And a report has just come in from an Athletic reporter saying the Fire just traded a boatload of GAM/TAM for CJ Sapong.
    I like this move.

Per source, hearing that C. J. Sapong is being traded to the Chicago Fire for allocation money. "Significant amount" of GAM and TAM I'm told. #DOOP

  13. Need a LB, or good GK, maybe RB, but not another midfielder

He's a striker. We need the depth because otherwise our only other true striker option at depth is Collier.

It's movement and it's good movement. Good use of TAM/GAM, good striker that can be used as genuine depth at the forward position and there are rumors swirling about a CB we're trying to get before opening day. We do have a good attack, but we're shallow when it comes to true strikers. He'll help with that and be a good late sub.

Katai , Niko , and Sapong are different type of players. CJ will give the fire a physical option at CF , and if needed can be slotted on the wing. This may be the best move for a second CF for the Fire in s long time.
Easy to brush it off due to defensive needs. But this is a damn good depth move.

I like the Sapong move, now just bring in some decent defensive depth to fill out the roster.

Edit: Then keep most of the team together for the next 2 to 3 years please.

So that makes 23 players, NRod has one week to sign 7 more players to have a full roster. I don't know about you guys, but I don't have confidence in NRod to get this done.
