No worries, and yeh, I wouldn't trust that Wikipedia map. A flamingo from the Caribbean occasionally gets off track and ends up in South Florida but it's quite rare. :)

I think it might work better as an octagon with just the negative space N line work in the middle, then "NASHVILLE SOCCER CLUB" surrounding it within a larger octagon. Basically, the typical circular logo done with octagons instead.

I like the N on this logo better than the one on the USN Nashville logo, because that one looks more like a tall Z that fell over. It'd look more like an N if the diagonal was the part that went behind the 6-strings

For me it is the road sign look that kills it. That is all I can see when I look at it and it just doesn't make any sense to want to look like a road sign.

I think if it was a clear "N" framed in that shape it would be fine, but the attempt at sound waves or whatever that is simply creates this blur of lines that leaves me confused and uninterested. To use Nashville parlance they made noise instead of music.

On the brightside, the future makeover this will surely get will have a low bar to overcome!

The yellow/gold color with the dark border is what makes it look like a road sign. It just is really bad IMO.
If they had broken up the background somehow or used a circle, it would help make it look less like a road sign.

But why? Think of something original to make the sport our own, instead of everyone copying England.

Are you calling them a bunch of dumbbells? Because if you are... well okay then.

First off because they are clubs/teams that play soccer/football. So why does it matter? I don't get the reason to be upset.

Do you tell banks to stop calling themselves, something bank? Do you tell schools to stop calling themselves, something school? "Man, I sure wish all the schools would stop putting 'school' in their name. It's so Englishy"

That is fine that you don't like it, but I really just don't get what the big deal is. Just because English clubs do it, means MLS clubs that play in a predominately English speaking country shouldn't use it?

I think it does look better when presented properly. The leaked hat was not a good first impression, but most clubs logos look a little less attractive on those hats. I still don't like it though and I think it's just a notch above the revolution. Maybe it will grow on us, believe it or not, some Revolution fans actually like their logo after all these years.

Weights or wearing large over-ear headphones.

Also, look for the N in the negative space. Makes it more appealing to me thinking of it that way instead of a broken N in black.

I keep seeing a solid looking N, for Nashville, a terrific city as I have been to.
But their N has been cut in half by some samurai sword. How are you gonna cut your N in half. Is there symbolism there we are supposed to get from their FO? Like two halves to the sport or something???

It's not cut in half. The "N" is the negative space between the two inverted "V"s.

Not a fan, personally, but the "N" is there.

Someone had suggested this a long time ago. I loved it then and I love it now. Extremely clever yet not silly.

Thank you for that. It is definitely more appealing if you let your eye see the N in yellow.
Still a shitty logo. I'd love to know how much they spent for this creation.

Being a "notch above the Revolution logo" is like seeing a little bit better than Helen Keller.

And there is exactly one person who likes the Revs logo, and that's Bob Kraft's grandson, who not so coincidentally was the one who designed it when he was 4. The most obvious flaw with the Revs is that it only can work on a white background, which is kinda design 101, but it shouldn't be surprising to see how many very basic things they get wrong.
