Just me, but the absence of true fans will kill the game. Take them away and you might as well just have 18 teams in all of Europe, in which case why bother?

    Says I, anyway.

    And a GK!

We're losing Cech and apparently Ospina too this summer. Martinez, if he stays, is not good enough to push Leno to be better, let alone take over his spot.

    Edit: Nor Macey.

I mostly just follow exciting black kids now, hope they do well, and watch their growth. Football lately is like watching the rich kid on the street play all the newest games, while you are reading pc gamer mags and grinding the free demo.

Marca claiming that Monchi's contract at Roma (expires 6/30/2021) has a "release clause" that he can invoke this summer and he has hinted at a planned exit. It is speculated that he would then join Arsenal.

Poking around and looking at inexpensive options for the summer. Found 2 potentially significant options that could fit Emery's system...

Pablo Fornals (20m Euro RC) CM/CAM Villareal - think he would be the perfect Emery #10. He is a b2b creative MF. Has enough creativity and playmaking ability to be a #10 but plays enough D to be an Emery #10.

Pablo Sarabia (18m Euro RC) CAM/RM/ Sevilla - spent most of his career playing RM. Been playing AM with Sevilla and has been drawing praise. Plays quite well as a creative wing. Not as much speed as some of the other wingers we have been linked with but could be a good rotational complement to Miki or Nelson and bring us some much needed creativity.

Couldn't help but see a linkage between these 2 posts. We'll be without a Sven replacement until summer, but no worries we've got @chjoak to keep the process moving for us so that we can act early and decisively in June.

I do what I can. Will gladly except a role under the DoF as long as they will let me work from home. Don't think I could talk the wife into a move to London.

There were rumors a couple weeks ago that Rabiot had agreed terms on a precontract with Barca. Deal was rumored to be approx 10M Euro signing bonus plus about the same in wages. Today there is news that Barca have pulled out of the Rabiot sweepstakes. It is also reported that Rabiot has fired his agent (his mom) and will sign with a firm.

Arsenal & Spurs are the 2 primary clubs that have been linked. Rabiot is rumored to have already turned down a Spurs offer.

Based on what I have read, his mom was a problem. Seems she had bigger entitlement issues than he is rumored/thought to have. Think there were a few teams that even flat out refused to deal with her.

At the very least, I'm somewhat optimistic that Monchi will more competently manage the sale of our own players.

    New moon on monday ....

But seriously its funny how the like of Le Grove start fapping over the brave new dawn of Arsenal outperforming the talent markets even before the guy is confirmed in the door

    Leftback rumbling...
Arsenal plan £25m swoop for Celtic's Kieran Tierney
Celtic lost manager Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City on Tuesday, and things could get worse for the Bhoys faithful in the summer if reports in the Scottish Sun are to be believed. The newspaper is reporting that Arsenal have been tracking highly rated left-back Kieran Tierney for two years and that Unai Emery is ready to meet the club's £25 million valuation of the defensive star in the summer. Tierney has grown in stature since being awarded his chance in the first team under former boss Ronny Deila, and Tierney was alleged to have been a target for Everton last summer. He is currently under contract until 2023.

Could be a bogus rumor but worth discussion as LB should be one of the positions that we attempt to upgrade this window. So let's discuss...

    We've been linked with...

Kieran Tierney - been linked for 2 yrs. Wenger supposedly made a 10m offer his last year but was rejected (Rodgers said he was too valuable) and Tierney ended up extending his contract. He is said to be loyal to Celtic & Rodgers. With Rodgers leaving that could open the door. If he were to follow Rodgers that could open the door for Chilwell.

Grimaldo - We supposedly sent scouts. Not worth his high release clause (60m euro) but there are several teams said to be interested so the price tag may end up pretty high.

Nicolas Tagliafico - Linked in the summer. Has looked really good for Ajax. Rumored to cost around 20-25m.

    Other possible possible options...

Ben Chilwell - Young HG LB. Likely not leaving Leicester unless Rodgers recruits Tierney. If he does, there will likely be several EPL suitors.

Junior Firpo - Betis LB/LWB. Little more offense than defense but impressing in La Liga. Some rumors that Real Madrid may go in for him.

Ryan Sessegnon - Young HG LB. Shows tons of potential but has played much more in a LM/LW role that last season than LB. May be a risky move and a pricey one at that.

Any other reasonable options you see?
