Yeah, this is crazy. AD says he wants to play, even though he wants out of NO. The Pels want to sit him since they know he doesnt want to be around and he may be a distraction, and also to protect their investment from injury. The league apparently forces the Pels to play him. So the Pels dust AD off and send him on the court where he promptly goes out, only attempts 9 shots total and scores 3 points in probably the worst game of his career. And after that, AD rants about his TEAMMATE'S lack of effort and desire to win?!?! What a load of crap. I have lost a ton of respect for Anthony Davis in this saga.

Kinda wondering why Beal has not already been traded. Even as a Lakers fan, I am all for AD, but why not go in for Beal? I get that we want to keep all of our developing younsters, but Beal is solid and acutally not all that expensive. Wall, on the hand, is just an expensive medical disaster.

Although what AD said was probably true (did not watch the game to really judge), but the way he went it and the timing of it was a poor decision. AD really should keep his mouth shut given the situation that is going on in NO. Their GM was just fired. AD picked up an injury.

I know NBA is a business and TV has a lot of influence, but I just dont get how you can force a team to play player and fine the team for resting or preventing injury ahead of the playoffs. The AD situation is peculiar as OS_M already said. I know this is coming from a soccer fan perspective, where this is part of the strategy of keeping fresh and rejuvenated from a grueling long season. But NBA execs must also understand this as well. AD just picked up an injury and will not be on TV anyways.

Im sure that the Pels were THRILLED to watch AD slinking off the court last night, with a bad arm in tow.

Because it would take too much to get him. Maybe not what it would take to get AD, but you're giving up Kuzma and Ingram and a 1st rounder at least.

For Beal? Beal is nice little player who can give you points, but damn, he ain't all that. Kuzma is a couple of years younger, on a far better contract, a much better defender because of his length, and honestly has more upside. Yes, Beal is scoring 25+ points a game. But that is because he is getting all the shots with Wall out (Kuzma gets less minutes and throws up far less shots than Beal). Unfortunately, because front offices are completely enamored with scoring points, you are probably right that the Wizards would ask for something ridiculous. But if it were me, starting a team fresh today, I would take Kuzma over Beal … and I am a Florida Gator alumnus who lives in the DC area and goes to some Wiz games.

I dont disagree. Beal is out best asset. So can see our FO doing the most.

I think playing beside Lebron would make Beal even better. It seems like a good fit on paper.

But while were here, is Ernie a made man? Connected to the mafia?

    How is he still here?

The Lakers are definitely toast now! The schedule doesn't favor them either.

LeBron is still not the same as the he was at the beginning of the season . As many of you saw his recent bad defensive display. We would get creamed by GSW or Denver as the 8th seed. Injuries and just general bad team chemistry doomed us . We might as well just tank it .

There's no real incentive to tank though, what would they get out of it? A marginally better draft pick? Been basically tanking for years now.

I think the number of games that the Lakers top 7-8 players have been available can be counted on one hand... that's really the key to the disappointing season, a thrown together team that can't ever keep the best rotation guys on the court together is never going to be able to do any consistent winning.

Oh well. Would have been nice to see the playoffs again, if only briefly.

Well it seems that the bloom is off the rose for Draymond in Golden State. Coach Kerr can be seen saying "I'm so ********ing tired of Draymond's shit" as a timeout begins during the Warriors last game. LOL What is going on in the Bay Area?

Marginally a better pick - hell yeah . It’s the way to rebuild in this current situation. It gives a better option to trade . I just don’t want to be stuck in the Phoenix , Sacramento kinda way . It would be great to emulate golden state, bucks , and even philly .

    Kyle Lowry scored 0 points.

He will never be considered an elite PG.

    No.

Why is it that you think he is elite?

    Or

That no one considers him elite anyway?

    I think he is elite?!?

I am just shocked that he could go through game 1 and not tally a single point. That is shocking.
