Night and day between first and second half. Such better positivity, timing, and play speed. Except for Lovitz. There has to be more of a requirement for playing left back than being left-footed.
The list of American left backs in MLS is ********ing bleak. Lovitz isn't good, but no one else is either.
That's having a fast brain. We're missing more players like that. Both Lletget and Arriola did what they had to do in a fraction of a sec.
He learned to play. We have a guy there now who is really good and playing with our youth team (Stroud).
I would say the 3 biggest winners of this camp have to be Lewis, Lletget, and Lima. I like Mihailovic too, but he seemed to struggle today when the game got concacafy for him. Might be something that he could adjust to, though.
Hmmm, they've always had a few top athletes, but in this match the team speed seems to be more widespread. Even our fast players, like Baird and Arriola, couldn't beat them for pace.
Honorable Mention: Zimmerman. He manned up and set down the Law after the second brutal foul on Mihailovic (the foul that basically took him out of the game). Every team needs a tough guy.
Lletget just has to be given time to come back from his year off with the injury he sustained playing v. Honduras Roldan was motm for me. Best game I ever saw him play. He's much smarter about how to cover ground. These January camps are really important for our MLS slouches if they are construed positively.
Dude is tough. Very good defensively, great in the air on set pieces, above average passer for a CB. He’s a lock CB for me. Long, Brooks and Miazga are fighting for the other spot.
I hear you but in both games the LB has been stay at home and at times the 3rd CB. If that’s how he’s going to have his LB play then there’s no reason to have to play a left footed player there. We could have used someone else that might play a role going forward. Not give 2 games to someone who doesn’t belong there.
Like who? Someone who would ordinarily be a right back, a quicker CB, or a different left back? Not a confrontational question. Genuinely curious what you think.
