Kicker is listing the lineup as a 4-2-3-1 with Adams and Demme the two CMs. We'll see if that's accurate.
Every time I've seen Dusseldorf this season, they've been horrible (including today). I'm kind of surprised they have 21 points. That seems too high.
Great team goal and it was Adams' composure on the ball in their defensive 3rd which kick started the quick transition.
I admittedly haven't watched much of RBL this year - obviously they aren't always this good but is this a fair reflection of their style? Could get used to this.
Yeah, they don't really look like a Bundesliga side to me, but apparently they've had a pretty strong run of 4 wins leading into this one.
Not at all surprising to me. The guy has been amazing for 2 years, and for some reason has been completely dismissed by a large part of our fanbase until his exit from MLS. The guy is sharp as a tack. It is a shame that Leipzig missed out on the knockout round of the Champions League via a last moment goal in the group stage.
By the way, it seems that Adams is playing right center mid (as opposed to left as was reported in the lineup). Are my eyes deceiving me?
Adams has been fantastic. Those two challenges he won in the middle of the pitch in the first few minutes really helped set the tone of the game.
Looks like he's on the right side next to Demme, but Sabitzer is dropping back at times too and Adams shifts into the middle more when he does.
Two reasons: 1) "He plays in MLS so he can't be good" 2) He's black, but that isn't said out loud, which turns into "he's athletic and doesn't have a good soccer IQ so he should play on the wing."
Amazing defensive read to step the pass, takes it on transition and just a tad heavy on the give and go to Werner.
