Greg Van der Wiel has fallen out of favor at TFC. We could really boost our D for just $800,000 a year.

And he'd only take up one Intrn'l roster spot.

Apparently it was serious attitude problems...not a recipe for success with this club.

    What do you mean?
The attitude sucks around this club.
From the players to the coaching to the GM to the owner to the FANS, there are "serious attitude problems" with the Fire aplenty.
    He would fit right in.

Of course, if we want an overpriced Dutch defender, we should just keep Kappelhoff.
He would cost about half as much and would not even take up an International spot.

I meant to imply that if you're starting out unhappy, coming here is not going to help.

Especially the first and second round picks. Those god"tamned" hold outs.

So, we may not get to see the mighty Ebenezer Ackon in Fire red come the start of the season?
    Shocking?

Reynolds is first " city limits " and CPS ( Jones Prep) HG signing. He was committed to Brown , the Fire pressed hard and matched a four year contract . He's been a regular call up for US youth sides .
His younger brother is also a standout at fullback -plays Academy and US U15.

And Jones Prep is one of the top schools in the city, so the kid is likely a well rounded person. Hell, the Fire scoped him away from Brown.

Guillermo reporting Kap is in Madrid- I'm going to be optimistic and say that's a good sign.

    Sign?!?
    With Athletico?
    Rayo Vallecano de Madrid?
    Certainly not Real Madrid.

Oh, with the Fire in Madrid! ;)
Let's hope he signs and returns to the Fire.
No reason not to keep one of the best center backs in the league.

Looking at the in league trade price for quality CBs it would be idiotic to not sign Kap. Cincinnati has completely flipped the price on it's head.
I've seen estimations that KC will be demanding over $1 mil in value to trade Ike Opara . Vancouver received about that for Waston .
To top it off Kap has a green card and the fire ...well... We want all know.
I can't see how they can bring in any non domestic reinforcements

Sounds like he received a deserved raise . The Fire probably saved tons of TAM by ponying up. Any transfer in would've required funny money for transfer and salary buydown.
Any trade in league for a quality CB would've broke the garber bux piggy bank.

I mean, I don’t think he’s a bad player but its not like this saves our season. Our defense sucked with him until Basti was back there. Basti makes the defense, not Kap. He is consistent and good depth for sure but not a three year championship player.
