Well, this is as good a starting point as any other. Best Of Luck to Marcel Zajac #11 (except vs. USMNT). Once A Zip; Always A Zip! We're happy to announce the signing of former @ZipsMSoc forward, Marcel Zajac (@MarcelZajac11) to a multi-year contract.🗞 | https://t.co/XDWOAABVLB #ForgeFC | #CanPL pic.twitter.com/ER42JBLeLP— Forge FC (@ForgeFCHamilton) January 8, 2019 That is a pretty cool scarf. https://gozips.com/news/2019/1/8/me...with-forge-fc-of-canadian-premier-league.aspx
Akron Zips 2018 ended up one of my favorite squads ever, perhaps even dearer than the 1986 Runners Up team. Even with eighteen new faces, this team should never have been as bad as they were at the season start. They likewise had no business winning nine matches in a row (only two at home) on their way to the final. It was a magical post-season, and one hell of a fun ride! Many memories were etched. Many boys grew into manhood. The absolutely magnificent coaching job by Jared Embick was lauded by all of College Soccer, even recognized by some undesirables down the Ohio River. (spit) Most importantly, Embick’s performance was reluctantly noted by Akron’s often diffident athletic department. Athletic Directors come and go; but Men’s Soccer remains strong! The upcoming season and foreseeable future are both terribly bright. With most key pieces returning, the Zips should make a title run in 2019. The recruiting class is solid, and it will address specific needs. In mid January, Akron look to be legitimate contenders. Much can change between now and then, so the optimism must be tempered a bit. After losing the 2009 final, Zips fans were distraught, thinking that we were the best team, and that we had squandered our only chance at a championship. This, right now, feels very different from nine years ago. Wiser from the 2009 agony, followed by 2010 championship, Zips fans now recognize that no team wins it all without good fortune. The title is not some insurmountable and mythical pursuit. It is but an objective. Zips Nation are very positive at the moment.

I urge all to read this inciteful piece on Marcel Zajac’s decision to join the new Canadian League rather than returning to Akron and taking his chances in the 2020 MLS Superdraft. The article belongs on this thread because it pertains to Akron Zips, past, present, and future. But it also speaks heavily to the Washington Post Article.. thread as well. https://canpl.ca/video/sandor-forge...l-of-future-with-canadian-premier-league-move I expect comments on this one.
Indeed. Interesting article. And the player sounds to know what he want to achieve. I count on you to track his career in the CANPL.
I love CanPL. I really hope it just explodes in popularity and investment. I do believe that Canada could surpass US soccer if they continue doing things the right way. There will be more! Akron may be needing a new assistant IF sources are right with the HC carousel.
