Wow looooove that. If they have good jerseys I may end up half-supporting them just off the branding. That's great.

Unicornhuskers, Mighty Meatballs, Sasquatches: Here's what happens when Omahans pick a team name Team names can build a community's identity, a rallying point that gives people of different backgrounds a common ground. So it can be a tall task to determine a proper name for a new soccer team, as Omaha Storm Chasers owner Gary Green must do after bringing a USL League One squad to Werner Park. Fortunately, World-Herald readers didn't hesitate to share their opinion. We received more than 1,500 responses when asking for suggested team names and colors. Best one:

Nice concept for a Charlotte team... https://www.behance.net/gallery/54509065/Charlotte-MLS-Branding-QCFC One of the best since the original one for Inter Miami http://diegoguevara.com/blog/2014/10/07/latest-project-miami-mls-team-2/
Isn’t the crown, even as a symbolism, everything that the US has been against since its foundation? I understand marketing teams throwing in the towel on “soccer” since the term hasn’t developed any sort of following, but even for concept art, borrowing these kinds of symbols just seem devoid of any real identity.
Charlotte was named after King George III's wife Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz before the revolution and its nickname is the Queen City so it seems appropriate to me.
It wouldn’t be the only city named after someone who had nothing to do with that city. I lived in Berkeley CA for years. I’m imagining a crest based on Bishop Berkeley and it just sounds ridiculous. I just looked at their flag though and it is a crown so I guess you’re right. They really identify with it for some reason.
Not news but yes the RSL and Cincinnati were in mind when I wrote that. RSL does twice the sinning with that name.
Stumptown Athletic (NISA): No indication of where they play (Matthews NC, near Charlotte) or even what sport lol
Connecticut United of NISA?? Get out your Magic cards, 18 sided dice, anime pillow, fedora, and blade, it’s.... Three Wolf Moon FC

That's... actually pretty cool. I like it. Both the name and logo feel kinda Tottenham/Wolverhampton-ish to me.
