Here’s an updated mockup of what the full Whitecaps primary could look like: In the leaked image it looks like the chest stripe continues onto the back, but it remains to be seen how they’ll handle that with the back numbers.
Since sleeve sponsors will be introduced in 2020 they might be allow some teams to put a placeholder of sorts on the left sleeve this year.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was an unwritten rule for the first team that your secondary must have no chance of being confused with opponents' kits. Which would explain the monochrome and all-white. For example, if Montreal decided to play with white shorts for their primary, it would mess with opponents' kits (notably forcing a team with an all-white kit as primary of alternate to change their shorts when playing in Montreal). Whereas I'm guessing at the youth levels, there's no such rule that states that "every piece of the kit must be distinguishable from the opponents'".
MLS doesn't seem to care about teams wearing the same color shorts. These pics are from 2017 but it happened last year too.
Ok, since Chicago used to be the Burn's team to hate I will work to hard here to suggest "Dumpster" as a sponsor for the Fire.
No clue as to why it changed but they pitched the jersey as having the light blue shorts ala our old USL kit. Glad the kids got to have that combo though
Not gonna lie, I'm a little annoyed with Precourt using green and a tree motif. I'm hoping Austin goes with a Black/Green/Black look. Their renderings look like they will be Green/White/White though.
Not the new away jersey, but a slight change to both Union jerseys. 1084934747980214272 is not a valid tweet id
H Is there anyone who is not at least annoyed or worse with Precourt? Austin or San Antonio deserve a team but not sure I wish that owner on anyone. Of course once we start playing them I may enjoy them being stuck with him.
Maybe it's just white shorts? Atlanta had red shorts for their secondary kit in 2017, but they ended up having to wear white shorts (that didn't even match the shirt) anytime they played against a team with red shorts, which seemed to happen more often then not.
That’s a really poorly done photoshop of this season’s Real Madrid home shirt. That’s not to say the new Union away shirt won’t end up looking something like that, but I wouldn’t trust that guy’s mockup until we see/hear some actual evidence to support it.
The Sounders just announced that Zulily is their new sponsor: NEWS | Sounders FC announces groundbreaking multi-year jersey rights partnership with Seattle-based online retailer @zulily. ➡️ https://t.co/7j4rIPK29h pic.twitter.com/NlDQx18uct— Seattle Sounders FC (@SoundersFC) January 17, 2019
It’s probably worth noting that the Zulily sponsorship includes the Seattle Reign and Sounders Academy jerseys as well. Unlike the XBox sponsorship, it does not include S2’s jersey, nor the naming for the field, or the Starfire training facility. https://www.sounderatheart.com/platform/amp/2019/1/17/18186373/zulily-sounders-reign-sponsor-value
I haven’t seen details, but the claim is that despite only covering the jersey sponsorships, it is worth more than the XBox’s reported $4 million per year.
OMG go read the FB comments on the sponsor reveal, lol. It has to be 95% against the new sponsor. The GIF comments have been gold.
