He was fine but did not stand out from what I saw.
The whole Valencia team played so cohesive as a unit defensively and their counters were pretty deadly. That was a team victory yesterday and was mostly due to tactics and discipline from the whole team combined.

It seems that he had a problem with his coach marcelino and he ordered his exit

Jeison is a good fit for what Barca is looking for, they need a CB who is good on the ball as a backup to Pique. He's not playing at all at Valencia so might as well ride the pine at Barca and hopefully he gets some time and gets to bring his game up to another level, either way even playing against Messi/Dembele/Suarez in practice is going to improve you I'd imagine.

Jeison has pedigree but he hasn't shown it over the last few years, injuries, coaches and his own form haven't helped, the pressure as we all know on Barca CB's is massive but if he can do well this should help out Colombia a lot, there is a very good CB in there and in CB terms he is still not at his peak yet only being 26, still hope for him to right the ship and compete with Mina/Davinson for a starting spot.

He is better going to a smaller team making less money and actually playing. He needs to revive a promising a career that Inter Milan destroyed

why inter destroyed his career? because he was playing worse than ranocchia..........Miranda was his partner..

he is fighting with his current coach marcelino......if he have failed in valencia he is the onlt problem.

Our players need to take responsibility, for his career there are better places to go where he can assure playing time I agree with that for sure but I don't blame clubs for ruining players usually. He is an adult, if the conditions are shit you can push for a move but he's had problems with a few coaches now, he's gonna have to look at himself in the mirror and put himself in a position to be successful, in all likelyhood he's only going to be a last option at Barca and he'll probably need to find a new club in the summer (but in all fairness wouldn't be surprised if Valencia coach is gone by then).

yeah its only a 6 month loan move and he goes as last choice CB, basically taking the Mina role. Its just that right now they have Pique and that Lenglet guy, Vermaelen is injured as usual and Umtiti is too.
I think its a bizarre move personally, the guy literally never plays at Valencia and when he did he looked bad. Im not expecting much from this but hopefully they can get this guy to be consistent.

also, crzd. Murillo is the one who "ruined" his career. You don't watch football so you wouldn't know, im surprised you even know what Inter Milan is.

this deal should be announced by tomorrow morning.

Valverde unfortunately hates to rotate and especially his CB's, but yeah with Barca involved in every competition and Umtitti out for a while and Vermaelen constantly injured and Pique getting up there in years hopefully he gets chances and can build trust. TBH though if I'm Jeison and I risk sitting on the bench might as well do it with the chance to win the Champions League and La Liga, and simply getting signed by Barca should raise his profile, but for CB's as we saw with Mina its also quite possibly the hardest team to play, all the CB's need to be like midfielders on the ball and will be put in difficult situations with a high line.

    Barca?

    Didn't see that coming.
Even if it is the limited bench role Mina had last season.
Hopefully he plays well in the inevitable weekday start and Copa Del Rey start.

So we are heading for a second straight year in which I watch Barca on beIN sports hoping to see a backup CB who may never get playing time.

    Hooray.

Murillo was actually linked with Barca when he was at his peak with Inter, he fits the profile of a Barca CB. So although it seems out of left field its not super surprising since they need a right footed CB and he's available and cheap. If he can do well he's one injury away from playing in the biggest club games in the world. It would not be hard to bypass Vermaelen (if he isn't injured) for the right sided CB minutes and Pique has played a ton of minutes at 31 over the last couple years and Umtiti looks to be out for most of this season.

Overall I think its a low risk gamble for him, he didn't really fall out at Valencia for playing reasons. Last season he was really good, injuries derailed him then he could never get back into the fold but it wasn't because of poor performances. Its low risk for Barca and Murillo, most of the time this is not going to do anything for him, he'll get a few small games not make an impression and in the summer will look for a home where he can contribute, simply being on the books at Barca should open up more opportunities for him and he's likely to increase his stock on the transfer market. But that said in the case of an emergency he could also be able to showcase himself on a huge stage and could either impress enough to get bought at Barca (they will still go for DeLight, he could be the backup option if that doesn't happen) or he could impress and get a big move somewhere else/or back in the fold with a new coach at Valencia. So I think for 6 months with no long term commitment its worth the gamble, especially when you consider he could get a chance to be part of Champions League and La Liga titles.
