He’s incredibly slow; probably slower than Xhaka in a sprint. He also takes a long time to turn.

    I don’t know, man. I don’t see it.

I worry more about his decision making than his athleticism.

He's relatively fast with the ball at his feet, but he's not very fast at a sprint.

But the original point was a comparison Guendouzi to Maitland-Niles. Maitland-Niles is clearly much quicker and much faster.

I'll take Clive's sound over Paul's or Elliot's any day.

    Definitely

But I’ve also seen the two play. The mentality thing is the thing I picked up from that podcast but physical talent I think it’s clear AMN is a better talent.

Per whoscored, Beilik scored and was Man of the Match as Charlton advance to the League 1 playoff final.

Our transfer situation is so uninspiring. Not a lot of funds, cool. I hope we use the promising youth and and returning loan players. Seeing the Jeff flourish just irks me since I really wanted him to succeed here.

Krystian Bielik plays long(i.e. long legs) and we can use him in the midfield or cb. Ainsley Maitland-Niles should absolutely be moved into center midfield or wing. Preferably midfield so we have some speed in the center of the pitch. To that end, also add in Joe Willock and Emile Smith-Rowe into the mix. I know that's a lot of youth in the midfield and they WILL make mistakes, but so do our current senior players. Calum Chambers has gotten player of the year at Fulham, play him or sell at this point. Reiss Nelson comes back and plays. Eddie Nketiah either becomes the de facto forward in cups guy or should go on loan.

I haven't seen enough of Xavier Amaechi or Bukayo Saka to really comment on them.

Bielik supposedly had a good year at Charlton but I think he played CM mostly, whereas he's a more natural CB. And Arseblog says he's SLOWWWW.

It's really nice that Chambers got POTY at Fulham, but he's had so many chances with us before and never really made it. If he comes back it's one more try, for just one more season, maybe even just thru December, and that's it! No more tries Callum after that. Make it or leave.

Of the others, the main one that I have (unrealistically?) high hopes for is Nelson. Nketiah & Saka have shown glimpses of brilliance and chutzpah but they seem more of a crap shoot.

Does it really get slower than Mertesacker? Bielik being slow just means we couldn't partner him with Holding/Chambers who are around average in speed. I really think including the youth would make the team more competitive. I forgot Mavrapanos, I think he should go out on loan. He probably has the physical attributes, but still needs the confidence here.

he is looking for 1st team minutes. We need to convince him that he will get a chance at that here. Think we either need to give him a taste of that this season or we need to loan him out to a Championship side with a good chance at promotion and then convince him that we are grooming him to take Laca's spot on the roster.

If I recall correctly, his U21 scoring is better then Eddie's. He and Eddie could be a damn good rotation but I honestly think Balogun needs atleast 1 season at a reasonably high level getting regular playing time. Wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in and giving him a shot at FA Cup matches like we did with Saka.

I don't think Eddie is that good. See if we can give him an extension + loan, with release clause that kicks in if he hasn't had X number of appearances for Arsenal in two years time.

Eddie has potential but he isn't ready to be leading our front line.

That would sound like a reasonable offer.
