I doubt Yoshida will be in England or Europe in general in 2022. Ueda? Again.. I doubt he is big league material but he can always prove me wrong.

Anyways, I can't wait for Shoji + Tomiyasu CB partnership.

I don't really think Yoshida will still be in EPL by then. On the other hand, maybe Nakayama, Itakura or even Tatsuta can play in the big leagues by then.

i would hope yoshida is there in 2022, kawaguchi-like leadership role even if he is not starting XI material at 34 years of age.

Honestly, if Nakamura had more luck with injuries, I think he might be Japan's best option right now. Honestly, Japan really need to find their clear no.1 GK now. Kojima and Gonda ain't that bad too imo.
Guys like Kosei Tani and Riku Hirosue, if they can improve, maybe they will have a shot at the next WC 4 years later.

Thanks. They really need to find a nr 1. The trio choosen now seem week to me. And Nakamura was supposed to be a next good keeper. Nishikawa also kind of dissapeared.

Kawashima still the best keeper for me.

Nakamura had two serious injury, otherwise he'd be already no. 1.

Who are your best bet on GK, CB, DM, CM and FW positions in your opinion for upcoming competition? Out of big 4 I think Japan has the best chance to win this thing and S.Koreans come next after arrival of bento.

Actually I feel that Ryosuke Kojima ain't that bad too. Not sure why Moriyasu hasn't give him a chance yet.

He didn't make his professional debut yet, as he is still playing in Waseda University.

Reportedly as a replacement for Takuma Asano:

There is no official confirmation from the JFA yet, but Hannover's coach André Breitenreiter said that Asano is suffering from a muscle injury.

They are different types of players.

I wonder how Muto will fit in the system?
He always has been a misfit whenever he plays for the NT, let's see how Moriyasu is going to integrate him.

I know, Im just hoping for the best. Do you know when Muto will leave for the NT? I was looking forward to seeing him during boxing day games.

Shiotani did very well today (amazing pk too). I didn't know he was the guy from Sanfrecce I was used to some years ago. Nice to see him play another important match vs Real (or Antlers?).

Shiotani assisted Caio's golazo as well. Man, Caio would have been a good addition to the Japan NT pool.

He would have, but he doesn't speak Japanese very well so he would have a difficult time becoming a citizen.

Even now he speaks passable Japanese, and presumably he has basic reading/writing skills from attending high school in Japan. I doubt he would have had a problem naturalizing once he hit the requisite 5 years of adult residence.

I would prefer a player would can communicate fluently like Ruy Ramos, Wagner Lopes, or Alex.

Also he needs 5 years of continuous residency in Japan.

    https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/国籍法_(日本)

His wikipedia page said that he came to Japan in 2011 for High School and he left Kashima in 2016 so he may meet that requirement, but no one really knows.
