Yep. Tomorrow evening is when we'll find out how much council is spending on all thing soccer. But doing work in the community and showing benefits to Linden today is important. I'd also note that a couple of union officials were there today too. Tomorrow will be about the arena district and Franklinton. But the theme so far has been unity and soccer benefiting all of Columbus. It's good to get everyone in a good mood before presenting the bill.
I wasn't banned. But I did just start a new thread about Austin FC in their forum since nobody in Austin had started it yet.
In terms of the BS Forum/Austin thread moved thing, I would not read too much into it. That sub-forum has been a mess for years and they have been contemplating changes (much needed) for a while. Fans of incoming teams b!tch because they are not in the MLS Forum until the off-season before play starts (Cincy, Nashville, etc). They want MLS talk. But at the same time, they are an active USL/NASL team, so they should be there as well. Miami & Austin present the problem of when are you actually in? Your logo on the MLS page may be the standard. And proponents of different cities get hurt feelings if you yank their city from candidates sub-forum, so the bar there is low. Plus, Austin/ Vegas had no bid submitted, so there is history for no-bid, no-problem. Anyway, I did head over to lurk & gloat.
Nope. I've been unpersoned by Billygeuse (who ever came up with that, gold star) and probably Dark Knight.
Will be interesting to see what they do with MAPFRE as a "community field". Laying down an artificial surface seems like a no-brainer, in which case I assume they'll try to get as much use out of it as possible, including Browns camp, HS sports, possibly even an AAF or XFL team. Is there still a pro lacrosse team around?
I saw that...and in true fashion instead of recognizing you as a Mod who created a thread for them out of kindness, someone complained about you being from Columbus. It was the most Austin start they could have hoped for.
Oh I think there was a lot more strategy to the whole show. Like sending a message to MLS before BOD meeting that we are united, progressive and getting shit done - now bless this deal! Also very poignantly refutting all Precourt and Loughne's claims that there was no business or civic support. And also to show bipartisan support from various constituencies for spending the public dollars. Far cry from the circus in Austin.
We interrupt your regularly scheduled thread for a SHEEP LEAGUE REMINDER Just a note actually. Not one single person has sent in sheep answers so far today. I understand, I get it. It's very easy to be both excited and distracted by the good Crew news today and this week in general. However, if you were distracted and your Crew brain was elsewhere today, it's probably safe to say that you will be even more like that tomorrow, especially if we get some crazy stadium details. So today might be the day to send in sheep answers. Your brain may not be functioning properly tomorrow.
Yes it's nice. Also another first. I kinda like what they did with old containers and turned it into Offices and it' does look like a Fort
You all need to look up Celtics history with youth programs before you get excited about this. They make the Catholic church look like a safe haven just saying.
Bruce Arena symbolizes everything I detest in US soccer. He is scum. He is a vile creature. I feel like throwing up at the thought of him touching my beloved.
In. The Queen run and the movie questions are probably going to piss me off cause I assume I'm going to have the #2 answer for everyone.
