Portugal-Poland is the final game pertaining to the League Nations group stage. Portugal already has the qualification for the Final Four to be played in June next, at home. Let's discuss!

Beto, Cancelo, Pepe, Rúben Dias, Kevin Rodrigues, Danilo, William, Renato Sanches, Rafa, Guerreiro, André Silva.

Looks like Guerreiro being tested as a winger.

    It's about time.

I like the lineup. Santos is playing around with some new ideas: Guerreiro in the midfield, William and Danilo together, Renato on the right (according to UEFA.com), the Silvas together up front...

Raphael usually does well with Borussia Dortmund when playing as a winger. I'm curious to see how he does today. I was hoping to see João Mário starting today after his very positive performance against Italy.

Sanches playing quite well (assist on the goal), Rafa unintentionally blocking all his shots though.

    Jeez, what a header, William...

Terrible dive by the Polish player, though. He had his arm touched and did a belly flop as Danilo won the ball. Good thing this match means nothing.

what nations league showed is that a lot of our player are not good for us going forward, if we stay with the same players in the semi we will get smacked

Poland are a pack of cowards up a man and kill the last 10 minutes. In their defense Portugal looked more threatening but play with some pride you had nothing to lose and were totally scared.

Anyway, we finish the group as the only League A team without a loss. Roll on the Euro qualifiers and Nations League Semis

Why were we playing with two holders against Poland?

Did Santos think we were playing against Brazil?

William's header that led to a PK, red card and draw means Poland is in Pot 1 and Germany is in Pot 2 for the Euro 2020 qualifying draw. That's why Poland was desperate to get a result today.

Hmmm, I wonder who Portugal will draw from Pot 2....?

I know, what a stupid move by him. Utterly juvenile. Both holders cost us a win.

Made no sense to play with both of them against Poland.

Santos tactics lacked manhood in this game. You would think he would want to redeem himself after the s**tshow against Italy.

Santos only knows one way to play.

That's the problem. I got cut down for saying it, but again he's not the right man for the job for these crop of players. So we had a couple of good games after the abysmal world cup and everyone forgot how stubborn and defensive he is.

Nothing to lose in this game, let them play attacking football FFS.

At least he's going with youngsters though and was smart enough to dump some players that were not in form. I'll give them that.

I think it was just a matter of experimenting a little bit with some different tactics given that this game literally meant nothing for Portugal. I am not against what Santos did today, try out Sanches further out wide (incase B.Silva slides into the middle?).. two DM's incase you are trying to kill off a game? 2 striker formation to see how A.Silva reacts? Guerreiro as a LM? not sure.. but it wasnt bad a idea at all.. the results were very vanilla and blah.. but the right idea was there.

Oh well. At least André Silva scored. How many goals does he have for Portugal now?
