What about Madueke, Sarimento and Bondswell? All were missing from the last squad.

Seems like Sarmiento has started off well anyway.

I doubt either of them three will be in this one.

Do we even know who they're scheduled to face yet or what the format is?

This time last year was a 4-team tournament v Portugal, Germany + Russia.

The Germany match will be a good test. Another possible big scalp.

I like Dennis Cirkin, slick kind of player. Sweet left foot.

Their recent teams at this level and then going on to the 19s and 21s haven't been as good as their reputation gives them. Probably from 97s onwards ? Obviously got a talent like Kai Havertz (99) and there will always be players like those. I have stumbled on quite a few conversations on twitter with those that have interests in German youth football and there are concerns.

Having a look Germany's squad for this. More or less positions give or take.

    GK:Noah Atubolu (Freiburg) 3
    GK: Tim Schreiber (Leipzig) 2

RB: Mehmet Can Aydin (Schalke 04) 4
    RB: Tim Bohmer (Dortmund) 1
CB: Lasse Rosenboom (Werder Bremen) 1
CB: Marton Dardai (Hertha Berlin) 4
    CB: Adrien Koudelka (Augsburg) 3
CB: Jannis Lang (Wolfsburg) 4 (1)
LB: Luca Netz (Hertha Berlin) 3
    LB: Kerim Calhanoglu (Hoffenheim) 2

CM: Jetmir Ameti (Hertha Berlin) 2
    CM: Marco John (Hoffenheim)
    CM: Jordan Meyer (Stuttgart) 5
CM: Christopher Scott (Bayer Leverkusen) 5

AM: Lars Kehl (Freiburg) 4 (2)
AM: Malik Tillman (Bayern Munich) 3
    AM: Marvin Weiß (Hoffenheim)

WF: Timon Burmeister (Wolfsburg) 4 (1)
    WF: Tim Lemperle (Cologne) 4

    CF: Ware Pakia (Dortmund) 2
CF: Jan Thielmann (Cologne) 5 (2)
CF: Nick Woltemade (Werder Bremen) 1

This groups last gameS was a 2-1 win & 1-1 draw with Denmark. Can see the whole game and highlights somewhere around here - https://tv.dfb.de/video/u-17-nationalmannschaft-deutschland-daenemark/23327/

Before that there were draws with Holland and Italy and a win over Israel.

Madueke on the bench v Spurs right now.

I wonder if City have let Harwood-Bellis travel with England or if he'll be with their UYL side. I know Ben Knight is with England.

Teden Mengi came off for United with an injury at the weekend so i'm not sure if he's fit. It seems like there should be some new names but I haven't seen any yet (bar Bate).

Wonder if Parrott will be with Ireland after his game today or if he's going to remain in the older age groups.

This time last year they called Youssoufa Moukoko up to play with this group as an U16. Seemingly they've backed off him for now because logically he'd be with them as an U17. It goes without saying what the reasons are for them not wanting to open that can of worms.

Moukoko's age is clearly questionable, but let's not act like we know for sure that he's older. We can't possibly.

tbf, the head of the Dortmund academy said he thinks he's older but hedged his bets and said he's probably an U17. He's scored 60 goals in 39 U17 games and still has two further seasons of eligibility at that age level. He's either the greatest prospect ever or he's overage. The way both Dortmund + Germany are treating him suggests they're also sceptical and waiting to see how it all plays out.

    Miguel Azeez (Arsenal)
    Lewis Bate (Chelsea)
    Yunus Musah (Arsenal)

    Fabio Carvalho (Fulham)
    Harvey Elliott (Fulham)
    Sam Greenwood (Arsenal)
    Ben Knight (Man City)
    Alex Mighten (Nottm Forest)
    Morgan Rogers (West Brom)

Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Fynn Talley posted a pic of St George's Park on instagram story on Sunday, with the caption "Happy to be meeting up with England again", so presumably he is involved.

I guess it depends who's choice it was. Again, the lack of qualifiers we're playing is becoming a bit annoying.

How do you mean who’s choice it was, surely it’s the lads choice or? He obviously has strong connections to Ireland im guessing.

It's his choice to accept the call up, but who knows if it was a choice of picking them over England. Madueke wasn't in the last squad and is in this one. Lewis Bate is another midfielder in this one. England might just be rotating Hodge out for this International break.

He'd clearly chose England over Ireland in the last few times there was a choice to be made.

Ok, yeah makes sense, guess we have to be a bit careful in these situations as could end up with another Fiorini situation but thrn again with so many players now as Duals it’s inevitable these situations will arise.

One way to look at it is that this is one of his last chances (perhaps his last chance?) to try out the Ireland set-up before he has to make some kind of decision. If he accepts a call for England's Elite Round squad, he'll be committed to England at least until he's ready to make a final choice on senior representation, which could be a long way down the road (if it ever comes).

If he has any question whatsoever about who he wants to throw his lot in with for the next few years, now is the time to explore the alternative option so that he can make an informed choice. Potentially the only time.
