Let's say they have summer and an half season before AC2019.

Does anyone know what Groningen's expectations for this season are? Seems like they really underperformed last season.

Is an European place out of the question this season?

FC Groningen – Willem II 0-1

    FC Groningen: Padt 6; Zeefuik 5,5, Te Wierik 6, Memisevic 6, Warmerdam 6,5; Hrustic 7, Drost 5 (46. Antuna 6), Van de Looi 6 (72. Freriks -), Doan 7; Van Weert 5,5, Mahi 6,5 (46. Mendes Moreira 5,5).
    Willem II: Wellenreuther 6,5; Dankerlui 6, Lewis 6,5, Heerkens 6, Palacios 6; Akkaynak 6,5 (79. Saddiki -), Crowley 7, Llonch 6,5: Croux 5 (46. Özbiliz 6,5), Sol 6, McGarry 6 (64. Avdijaj 6).
    Scheidsrechter: Manschot 7.

Man of the match: With a beautiful goal, the Englishman Dan Crowley, Willem II, gave them the first victory of the season. In any case, Crowley started the season well and he is one of the pillars of the new Willem II, the club where he did not play last season.

  11. Doan into the last 60 of the Golden Boy Award:

I guess he never made that list at all if he played in Japan.

He has the potential. Not the greatest start I agree. Missed penalties also. I believe in Doan.

Borussia Dortmund sent scouts 3 times to check Doan, while Atletico Madrid and Juventus are said to be interested.

Guardiola praised him and said he is an interesting player:

I don't think he is ready to move to one of those big clubs, I think this rumours was disseminated by his agent so he can move to a relatively bigger club/league than Groningen, not necessarily to one of the aforementioned big clubs.

  15. Yup, take an intermediate stepping stone. Jumping to wide a stream can get you in the deep water and drown you.
Always make a move that more or less ensures you playing time, as that's the utmost important part of your development. Sitting on a bench watching the stars isnot going to make you better.

Doan's agents are the same, I was already surprised that they signed him to Groningen. Maybe they finally got it.

If City means one year on loan at Girona and then Manchester, it may even be a good option.
