bingo..thats why hes a great super sub when we're up a goal late against tired legs...

as evidenced in euro 2016 vs belgium when he came on late

Conte understood what his strengths and weaknesses are, Ventura on the other hand....

Early reports seem to confirm what I assumed... that Mancini will stick with a false 9, and start the same front three as he did against Ukraine.

Pelle was doing that before he was the first to realize that Ventura was out of his league. Belotti can cover this role if he stays injury free and in form. Cutrone is also capable. Scamacca as @calabrese8 mentioned is big and scoring a lot already. Pick the most in form, have the others on the bench.

You can do well on this level playing a Giroud if your "supporting" cast is Mbappe, Griezmann, Pogba, etc....not our lot.

I wonder if Giovinco will get any minutes. I don't see the point of calling him if you are not going to give him a chance.

I agree! Why did they bother calling him up? Unless he got injured or didn't show much in training. Even if he didn't show anything in practicing, I'm not sure how you can go by that. .

Exactly. Pelle refusing to shake Ventura's hand and getting kicked off the team was like the canary in the coal mine.

Saw the score. Can’t believe that Germany has sunk down so low since their 1-7 win over Brazil and their World Cup win only 4 years ago.

Meanwhile , here is today’s probable formation..,.

ITALIA (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Florenzi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Biraghi; Verratti, Jorginho, Pellegrini; Bernardeschi, Insigne, Chiesa. A disposizione: Sirigu, Acerbi, Berardi, Barella, Bonaventura, Criscito, Gagliardini, Giovinco, Immobile, Emerson, Piccini, Tonelli. Commissario tecnico:Roberto Mancini.

Giovinco would have scored that free kick that Insigne missed at the edge of the box.

Well look at that. Can't see minutes on Napoli but is good enough for the Azzurri when given minutes elsewhere.

Napoli wasted Tonelli away, such as shame.

Maybe to give him the opportunity to try and earn it in training?
