Jung Woo Young isn't sexy (both his football skillset and his physical appearance), but he brings something that a lot of our guys in DM/MF seem to lack. Aggression and persistency. Definitely a blue-collar footballer overcompensating on his lack of athletic and technical skills with sheer determination. Not my favorite footballer in the world, but I do not have issue with JWY getting some caps (unlike JHS)
On another note the Rock salt guy from Uruguay is pretty good. I wouldnt be surprised if he becomes the next premier LB
You're just naming his worst games. He's been solid against Iran (tbf it was their B team) and great against Uzbekistan. Against N.Ireland and Poland he had a bad form (not only in these NT games but also at Jeonbuk). Then he got injured. In the Asian Games, he's had two bad games and that was against Malaysia and Uzbekistan, but he played well in the other games, especially in the final. And in K-League, he's arguably the best on his position. IMO he's got much more potential than JHS ever had. He just needs to go to a bigger league because he ain't getting better in Korea.
I heard this same argument for Jang HS during 2015 Asian Cup after 2014 WC. The same for Choi KB... and etc. Kim MJ doesn't have a lot of caps due to being young, injury or whatnot but I haven't been impressed. At the Asian Games, he played against B teams or U21 teams (for Japan, it was U21 B team).
During the Stielike/STY days, I got so used to waking up and going to the last page of a match thread and seeing, "********thisshit********thisshit********thisshit." No more! lol
this is true, but KYK gets a passed because he was pretty much flawless when it mattered (World Cup). You can't say the same about JHS.
what? 6'2 180-190 pounds from a central defender is a pretty good size. We're not talking about American football player here.
I'll post a YouTube version when it's up, but in the time being, here's the alternative: Korea vs Uruguay Full Match: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
KNT playing with a makeshift 3 back in build up and 2 banks of 4 in defense? Never thought I'd see the day that we actually play a modern style of football that actually suits our personnel.
