What the Red Stars need is a strong Central Defender to go along with Katie Naughton so that Julie Ertz can be free to go up.
I'm guessing the Red Stars could have easily cut Stephanie MCcaffrey, who did not play most of the season due to a neurological condition, but instead, they are extending her a new contract so that she can stay on the team. IMO, Red Stars do a lot for their players and value them. Rory may be tough, but I believe he cares about those that bust their butt for the team and are loyal.
